Poll: Worst lines in LOTR movies
Aragorn: Let's hunt some Orc.
Gimli: No one tosses a dwarf / Toss me!
Gimli: I'm wasted on cross-country. Dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances.
Aragorn: Legolas, what do your Elf-eyes see?
Legolas: A diversion!
Gandalf: I've sent him to his death.
Elrond: Our list of allies grows thin.
Orc: Meat's back on the menu, boys!
Frodo: Go home, Sam.

I remember spontaneous laughter in the theater on "a diversion" [In reply to] Can't Post

while the movie was still new and fresh, so it wasn't a bunch of jaded fans on their 12th viewing. There might have been a way to deliver that line intelligently, but they sure didn't do it right.

It's in FotR when the Black Rider is hunting the hobbits. [In reply to] Can't Post

They're hiding in the hollow tree, and the Rider appears on his horse, and the horse makes a sound like "Hi!" I saw FotR in the theater with 8 TORnsibs in 2002, and we all laughed when that happened, and no one else in the theater did. I think we were a bit obnoxious.

Ah! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'll keep an eye (or an ear) out for that next time I watch FOTR *mentally prepares for never being able to take that scene seriously again* Wink

No matter how many times I watch it [In reply to] Can't Post

I can never 'hear' that. It just sounds like a normal horse noise to me.
But I always watch for the magical moment the front of the horse appears from out of the tree! Laugh
