Your take on the Hobbit poster where the ring is falling down the rocks! Very nice - it has a dark feel to it! Hows the last poster!! Good heavens - I like that - the one with Gandlaf, Gollum and Bilbo (Ian Holm looks great in that!) ... There's just so much to look forward to! Thanks for sharing your posters! Well done!! Cheers Elven
Were off to Hobbiton finally! Tolkien was a Capricorn!! Russell Crowe for Beorn!!

You don't need to worry about your English here. You seem to do better than some native-born English speakers I have seen on here -- and since I have only one language, I would never complain about anyone else using a second or third language (or more for some, I am sure).

Particularly your first, third and fourth are great. (Gollum looks a bit creepy for me - what he is, of course). Very well done! Oh, and don't worry about your English. Being German, I know how you feel - but peoples here are nice and understanding.
I do not suffer from LotR obsession - I enjoy every minute of it.

I guess that's from one of Elijah's early movies? Personally I would love to see a scene where young Frodo goes to live with Bilbo. I just think this would be very touching. Somewhere there must be a little boy who looks like a young Elijah.

Featuring Martin Freeman as Bilbo. IF Ian Holm can't reprise the role, he would be my first choice. Grabbed a recent photo of Ian Holm and put him in there. Smoothed out his face a bit to see what makeup and such could do.... I don't think the studio would go for that unfortunately

Cool. Ilike your posters. Did you make them by yourself? Martin Freeman was a good choice. I found another (german) Poster with him in the net:

Excuse me, I hope I am not interrupting the discussion here. Zyklo asked me to go to this thread so I decided to duplicate the question I asked from the thread http://newboards.theonering.net/...forum.cgi?post=91982 here. Anyway, without further ado: I wonder if some fan art followers here have seen the poster I attached below. I remember seeing this poster a long time ago and I think the poster was used for www.thehobbitmovie.com which is a parked site right now. I notice that a user in Wikipedia posted the image recently and I plan to propose it for deletion because it is used as a poster for the Hobbit movie entry even though I am quite sure that this is not the official poster from New Line or MGM.

I don't think it's the official poster yet. I think it's a fan poster. It looks very similar to this (Fan-)poster:

I LOVE 'Riddles in the dark' as a tagline! Very cool! I'd buy that poster - love the darkness of it. It just needs a release date on the bottom and it's the perfect teaser trailer!

The way you pasted that together really shows what Martin would look like as Bilbo. I'd still like to see Ian Holm play Bilbo, but Freeman still looks good. Excellent work!

so many good ideas in there to respond to I particulary like the Riddles in the Dark poster, and the very last two in the first post. Excellent images overall. The Riddles in the dark poster really evokes the connection to LOTR, whilst i love the illustrated quality of the very bottom poster, which evokes a sense of mystery and adventure almost with the tree line and mountains beyond. I also really like the first and second poster ideas in Messenjer's poster, very neat illustrated posters and they make me think even more that Martin Freeman would be a very interesting choice for the role of Bilbo.

They are very dynamic! Even the teaser ones with just the Ring, very dark and mysterious, and you do great blending with Sir Ian Holm's features! I too hope that Sir Ian Holm will be in both films, even if its only briefly in some kind of introductory/narrator fashion, for continuity's sake! My favorite fantasy opening sequence for "The Hobbit" shows Sir Ian Holm as Bilbo looking hale and hearty at age 85 or so, surrounded by his cousins and friends at Bag End and he's beginning to tell his tale (again). The Fellowship hobbit actors are made-up to look older and are playing the roles of their characters' fathers; perhaps a wee Frodo- lad in his father Drogo's (Elijah Wood's) arms listening to Uncle Bilbo's tale for the first time. Then the scene would segue into the tale itself, with a younger actor playing younger Bilbo (it would help if the younger actor has on at least some of the same clothes and looks a lot like Ian Holm.) There are a lot of other good one-sheet concepts in this thread also! Thanks for sharing them! -ML aka -Debbie/primmy
