Cool

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

I'd love to get the windows double-glazed [In reply to] Can't Post

to put an end to condensation, but I hate to think what the cost would be.

One of my sisters has moved to Rotorua and it's the first time she's lived in a properly insulated house. She's so, so happy to finally have a warm home.

Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

How wonderful to have baby happiness in your family again. :)

My nieces and nephews are being a bit slack on the baby front. Of the 17, only two have had kids so far.

Congrats! // [In reply to] Can't Post

If I told you my story
You would hear hope that wouldn't let go
If I told you my story
You would hear love that never gave up
If I told you my story
You would hear life, but it wasn't mine

If I should speak, then let it be...

Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and when mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Fireworks in the UK too... [In reply to] Can't Post

...for all the wrong reasons! I can't believe the mess we are in politically after the EU referendum, so comfort food is definitely in order. The English summer weather is on a bit of a roller coaster too. During storytime in my small summerhouse with my grandson yesterday we had rain, hail and thunder! Quite dramatic! He wasn't impressed by teh 'surround sond' thunder, but found the hail bouncing off the woodstore quite amusing. Have a great weekend across the pond, and wherever you might be, folks. Cheers!

Thanks for the good wishes! [In reply to] Can't Post

Unfortunately my smartphone died (yes, just as I was getting the message that she'd arrived!!) and it's a pain to upload pictures from my regular camera, or I'd post a pic of her cute little scrunchy face. Wink

“Tollers,” Lewis said to Tolkien, “there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves.”

*gets keys, unlocks door* Let's get a Fiesta Friday started up again! [In reply to] Can't Post

The Boards are moving slowly, everyone must be on summer/winter vacation! Laugh Except for poor Altaira, our esteemed barmistress, who's stuck in a meeting. Unsure

Getting some heat waves here in the States, so once again I've brought some ice creams and sorbets and Italian ices, plus root beer in case anyone would like to join me in making a Root Beer Float! (I like mine with chocolate chip ice cream. Smile)

So come on in - we've got air conditioning or a cozy fire, whichever suits your needs, and let us know what you've been up to this week, and your plans for the coming weekend!

People should not be up at 6.45 on a winter Saturday morning, especially if they are drinking alone...

A mixed week [In reply to] Can't Post

weather-wise. We snatched at the fine days and *finished* our annual pipfruit (apples, pears, persimmons and quince) pruning. The sheep have been a great help, snuffling up leaves and nibbling twigs. It'll be time to tackle the roses soon (sans sheepy assistance), but not this weekend.

It was fine enough to go riding, and horse and I had a nice outing. We're definitely communicating better.

The weekend will include the usual catching up on paperwork and similar, along with some r-and-r time. Looking forward to it.

Wishing everyone a pleasant weekend.

Warm vanilla pudding [In reply to] Can't Post

would go better with the plum pudding, don't you think? Or would you like a gravy-boat of warm chocolate pudding to pour over your Yorkshire pudding? Sly

(My son makes a delicious butterscotch rice pudding...)

We (almost) never get snow [In reply to] Can't Post

this far north. Frosts, yes. Snow, no (a dusting once in my lifetime; one real fall in the last century).

The ground is a bit too wet for ideal riding weather, but at least it's not too hot. :)

I'm a bit of a nomad at the moment, sleeping on a couch here and there until we get things settled for an apartment of our own. Working my hardest on that task. But hey, I'm here for good now!

Also trying to have a little fun before I get a job.
