Thorin Thursday Fan Art!

Or, what to do in those last few minutes at the office Here's Thorin, looking absolutely #Majestic in his final moments ... of the film, of course! Not to be outdone, the King of Mirkwood Smirk has some advice for his #Majesty: And here's Thorin with Bilbo - never thought I'd ever want to be a Hobbit, but hey! And let's not forget about the youngsters - really nice sketch of Fili and Kili here: Now, this one is a little darker, but I still like it: I'm assuming our beloved Thorin is still under the influence of the dragon sickness, but what are Fili and Kili thinking? Are they questioning their Uncle's behavior? Wondering if they should do something, like try to talk to him, or thump him over the head? Or do they intend to stand loyally by their Uncle and King, no matter what? Well, of course we all know the answer to that - that darned par-tei barge is late bringing the tequila! And Thorin looks both angry and dangerous in this (IMO awesome) pic, so the par-tei girls better hurry up, before he does something foolish like fire an arrow at Thranduil!

I found all pics on DeviantArt - one of my favorite sites! Not sure who the artists are, though.

and that sketch of Fili & Kili really is terrific, it captures their expressions so well.

That's something I would like to have seen in the movie, even if it was just a harp laying on the treasure pile or hanging on the wall. If there was one in the background somewhere, I've never seen it. Somehow the fact that Thorin played a harp always added a dimension to the dwarves in the book that I thought was interesting.

Not even a hint...*sigh*. I mean, RA is a cellist, apparently, and knows music, so I think he would have done a wonderful job being thrown in to have to play a harp suddenly. I think he wouldn't have had the awkwardness someone who had never played an instrument might have. Even just a harp laying around in the gold.... http://the-girl-in-mirkwood.deviantart.com/art/My-homeland-536188045

However it would or wouldn't have fit in, and in spite of the probable *handwringing* of some, I was really, really hoping there'd be some scene where Thorin idly picks up a harp in Erebor, or maybe when it's when one of the other dwarves start singing, and Thorin joins in. Just a quiet moment kind of like the acorn scene or the Bofur/Bilbo scene - aaaaaaagh!!!! RA has such a beautiful voice, a musician - willing to bet he can play guitar a little at least... SOMEONE's lovely photo edit - don't think this is "real"..... (and RA's series Berlin Station has a teaser out.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjoheGsxu7w The man was BORN to wear dark blue/black/French navy - e.g. Thorin colors...) Anyway...... Norloth's vision of Thorin after reclaiming Erebor..... And just because... Full size at: http://govinda91.deviantart.com/...akenshield-346685173 The artist says she "wanted to finish it, but hair is so difficult..." - well, I can't draw or paint anything, but IMO this is amazing

his #Majesty is too overwhelming!!! Right now there's a storm on the horizon, thunder rumbles in the distance, and new Thorin pics arrive! Now all I need is some hot chocolate topped with whipped cream And maybe a little music to go along with that!

And playing his gold harp - that is so perfect! To answer your question as to whether RA can play guitar: https://twitter.com/...s/740346114885423105 (The official details about Mid Life Crisis should be out soon.)

Check this out for adding COLOR to fanfics.... https://www.artstation.com/artwork/La4DP Modeled after Richard Armitages Character from the Battle of the Five Armies movie. Featured in the "Edain" Mod for Battle for Middle-earth II (2006). We can learn 3D software and make zillions of 'wee Thorins... Nice pics BTW! Watch out for LIGHTNING...
Muad'dib Thorin Oakenshield had become the hand of God Sword of Vengeance, fulfilling the Fremen elvish dwarf MYSTERIOUS prophecy (because all great fantasy literature has one. You just gotta have a PROPHECY of DESTINY!) Where there was war, Muad'dib a really hot dwarf badass Thorin Oakenshield would now bring peace another war and EPIC hair. Where there was hatred, Muad'dib Thorin would bring love (and catalyze thousands of fan-fics). To lead the people (well, dwarves, anyway, with others coming along for the ride) to true freedom, and to change the face of Arrakis Middle Earth (and the way everyone thinks about dwarves). Your time has come. A storm is coming. Our storm. And when it arrives, it will shake the universe. http://ellicrown.deviantart.com/art/Thorin-Oakenshield-Richard-Armitage-426981393
