For anyone in the area who is interested:
not sure if this is happening anywhere else, but the Gateway theater in Columbus, Ohio will be showing the LOTR trilogy Sept 22-24 for Tolkien week.

Oh man, this would be awesome. I hope a theater in Utah does it. From this point on, I will pretty much go to ANY large screen showing of LOTR or Hobbit that I can within a hundred miles of my home.

Due to my age the first (and so far only) time I saw the Trilogy in theatres was during the nationwide (US) three night event in 2011 when the Blu-ray came out. Definitely a great experience.

This one being done through an independent theatre and screening in 35mm film (rather than digital) seems to be a local event, which is still great. There are plenty of other indie theatres that do revival screenings, including of LOTR sometimes. Just gotta keep our eyes peeled. Smile
