Help! No toolbar :P
|
Can't Post

I finally have a functioning computer and internet connection so I thought I'd be able to post pictures again, but I don't get a toolbar. I went over Magpie's posting instructions again, and everything works okay, but no toolbar. I don't remember if it pops up sometime during the process or if it's visible as soon as you open dialog box if things are set right. I've tried both with Chrome and Internet Explorer...any advice?

I mostly use Firefox for posting on TORn. Internet Explorer used to not work for me, but I'm using IE 11.0 now and I get the toolbar. So, you best options are probably to check on the version of IE you have (the tools wheel at the top right - About Internet Explorer), and/or download and use Firefox for posting at TORn.

Also, check the "get markup help" link in basic editor

for codes to do post formatting and pic/link inserting without the toolbar if necessary. Or just bookmark the markup page for reference. Those who know HTML can also use that, though you have to be sure to choose that from the menu at the top of the Basic editor window or it will default to markup only. Neither of those options are as convenient to use as Advanced Editor, but they do work.

Not only is it satisfying to get the picture posted, but it's great to learn new things. Thanks!

I was probably doing something wrong. I use those markups to make links active and some other basic things, but just couldn't figure out the picture thing. But thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

...if only because I like having several tabs open at once and find it annoying to jump between browsers. Of course, my annual victory in the caption contest usually forces me to venture back into the realm of Firefox.

Nursing my 4 year old Macbook along until graduation next month. This baby can't give out on me now! With that Kiwi wifi, you can probably play a game of solitaire in between clicks between TORn forums, right?

Our internet connection is nearly as fab as the warmth of our homes in winter. It's a paradise, you know.

Just had flashbacks to a few cold nights I had tried to forget. Always lovely to go for a walk outside because it's warmer out there than the apartment.

there was a feature story about immigrants to NZ and the problems they had struck, such as our cold and uninsulated houses. One woman said she cried on one really cold night when she opened the fridge door and realised it was warmer inside the fridge than outside it.
