Lembas versus Twinkies Can't Post

Which is better for questing?

******************************************
Elves and Men and Dwarves gonna cower,
When I finish building my tower,
When I finish building my tower with the Eye on top!
Watch that Eye and see how it glowers,
Ain't no contest between the Two Towers,
Nosey folks'll peek thru' palantirs and their eyes will pop!
The battlement's black and immeasurably strong, an adamant mountain of iron,
A buttress of steel, impossibly tall, held aloft by the power of Sauron!
See that Eye a winkin' and blinkin',
Ain't no finer tower I'm thinkin',
You can keep Orthanc if you're thinkin' that I'd care to swap,
For my black and shiny tower with the Eye on the top!

Lembas for sure! [In reply to] Can't Post

Though Twinkies will always be a guilty pleasure. Mmmm, banana Twinkies.

Might depend on the length of the Quest . . . [In reply to] Can't Post

Itís said by an ďexpertĒ/author Steve Ettlinger of Twinkie, Deconstructed that Twinkies, although they get a tad hard are good to eat for years. (He had eaten some that were eight years old and still good, and estimates they could still be good after thirty years.

Itís told to Gimli by the Elves of Lorien that lembas ďwill keep sweet for many many days, if they are unbroken and left in their leaf-wrappings. . .Ē (mallorn leaves). So it seems that for a long quest (years) Twinkies should be the yummy of choice. (And how much longer would Twinkies last if wrapped in mallorn leaves?) Frodo and Sam ate lembas for just over a month. Itís said that a small amount of lembas gave enough fuel to last a full day so Frodo and Sam would have to eat many (several) Twinkies each day to achieve such sustenance.

So for the short quest (a month or so) lembas wins.
But, for the long quest Twinkies have the edge (if the questers were able to backpack enough Twinkies).

A bit OT, but if itís a taste contest, itís said that lembas was sweeter than the honeycakes of Beorn. So (as hard as it is for modern-man to believe), lembas is more scrumptious than a Twinkie!

And thatís almost all I have to say about that. . . Sly Tongue
