I guess I'm still a fan of a live-action adaptation.

And I've looked at Jef Murray's work, I think it's pretty good. For characters, I'd suggest Jenny Dolfen.
I always follow my job through.

I didn't discover NPR or the BBC until after the films' were released! I didn't get out very much... until TORn came along ;) Well, if you are interested, the 1968 BBC adaptation can be found quite cheap on CD: http://www.amazon.com/...-Drama/dp/1620641135 The Hobbit, Mind's Eye/NPR dramatization (1979): http://www.amazon.com/...e+hobbit+radio+drama LotR BBC Full-cast Drama (1981): http://www.amazon.com/...0CTRC1DZNZSFDR47VHFK LotR, Mind's EyeNPR dramatization (1979): http://www.amazon.com/...0N032GREJK72AZ3KJJCA The Mind's Eye adaptation of LotR is probably the most complete short of an unabridged reading as it includes the Old Forest, Tom Bombadil and the Barrow-wights. I also very much like the Dwarves' Misty Mountain song in the Mind's Eye version of The Hobbit.
