Ori was enraptured by the colors of the luminous mushrooms and wished he had brough his paints, while Dwalin and Bilbo only wished for something to scrape the things off the soles of their boots and feet, respectively. //

Off the grid? As it happens, I just came in for a little while and will head straight back out...
anyone who gardens (at least in my hemisphere) is officially out the door I think in the U.S. anyway In other parts of the world as well. I, for one, am BURSTING with needing to plan, plant, sow, repot, prune, dig, weed, water, fertilize, support, cut, harvest... "From my grandfather to my mother, this gardening zeal has come to me. There is no choice, Avvie. Not for me." When gardening runs three generations deep (at least), what can anyone do? I believe it's at least partly genetic, and the rest is due to early exposure. Elarie's lovely photo reminded me that I cracked a pot and should find time to make it into a fairy garden... See you in the autumn! (Or after I have sprayed the apple trees (as eco-friendly as possible) and given the roses some wood ash and moved two spruce saplings that grow too close to the wall and...)

Unless you are having a snack out there.... I don't care if Thorin was pushing a wheelbarrow, it's a DWARF thing, I'm just not seeing: It just doesn't fit IMO. I don't care what the fan-fics say.... So #UN-Majestic!!!! Maybe: http://www.thehobbitblog.com/...hemed-public-garden/ Tho I don't know if this is still up this year, or what. I hope so. PS. Love the 'wee hobbit gardens - now where are the little dwarves and ponies?

..which isn't easy, you're all too good at this. But, with honourable mentions to just about everyone, the winner is..... (cue fanfare) DARKSTONE!!!
For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood and every spring there is a different green. . .

With so many good 'uns I'm surprized to be picked!
****************************************** Elves and Men and Dwarves gonna cower, When I finish building my tower, When I finish building my tower with the Eye on top! Watch that Eye and see how it glowers, Ain't no contest between the Two Towers, Nosey folks'll peek thru' palantirs and their eyes will pop! The battlement's black and immeasurably strong, an adamant mountain of iron, A buttress of steel, impossibly tall, held aloft by the power of Sauron! See that Eye a winkin' and blinkin', Ain't no finer tower I'm thinkin', You can keep Orthanc if you're thinkin' that I'd care to swap, For my black and shiny tower with the Eye on the top! -Rodgers and Hammerstein, The Lord of the Rings
