Hard to think of a true villain I could stomach at teatime... 1. Bilbo 2. Gandalf 3. Balin 4. Galadriel This is kind of cheating, since I am relying on info not actually mentioned in the movie, but for villain-- 5. Saruman For one thing, he'd still be trying to fool the others into thinking he's still on their side instead of his own, so he'd be on his best (if snarky) behavior. If I didn't have to pick a villain, I'd probably have Radagast, although I'd make him wash up before we ate.
Some people call it fanfiction. I call it story-internal literary criticism.

Well he's most certainly a villain, though I guess we're all afraid he'd steal all our money and run off in our nicest dress

Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.

Gandalf Galadriel Tauriel (yeah, yeah, I hear the scoffs) Balin ...and for a villain, the Master of Lake-town: repulsive, although I can see him being tolerable enough when food is served!

and for my villain... that Orc whose head gets cut off by Thranduil whose name I can't remember. Not sure which one I want to invite though--his head or the rest of him? Decisions, decisions...
“Tollers,” Lewis said to Tolkien, “there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves.”

(I wasn't really paying attention, sorry), then my list would include the following: Thorin (duh!), Fili, Kili, Balin and the Goblin King (since I would still like to witness that sing off between Thorin and the Goblin King). Smaug wouldn't fit in my apartment (and he may try to either torch the place or try to confiscate all my gold jewelry, even though I don't have that much) and Gollum would just sit in a corner talking to himself (not necessarily a bad thing). Maybe Thorin could teach me how to braid my hair like he does (since I still have a heck of a time figuring out how to do that, and I bought some replica dwarven hair beads on Etsy), among other things that I can't mention on such a family friendly site.

Radagast-I'd love to have him meet my menagerie Balin-warm, polite and able to keep things calm Smaug-okay, so it'd have to be a picnic in a big park....I've hosted many reptiles, just nobody quite as big or well spoken! Would love to see him talking to Radagast Gandalf-no-brainer Legolas-just can't leave him out!

For tea: Bilbo, Gandalf, Balin, Nori (the only dwarf who asked what he should do with his plate) and Bofur. Villain: The Master of Laketown. As far as villains go, his biggest problem was being too greedy. He'd be the most likely to be a decent conversationalist, and as long as he was complimented frequently, would be an amiable guest (which means if I didn't compliment him, he'd tire and soon leave). I wouldn't want any of the orcs or Gollum to know where I lived.
