No. [In reply to] Can't Post

And while i agree that the first 2 Alliens are excellent, i probably belong to the minority that found the other 2 very good.

1)Alien 10/10
2)Aliens 9/10
3)Alien 3 7.5/10
4)Alien Resurrection 8.5/10

I am a fan of the Harry Potter books and films as well but in the case of Underworld i only really liked the first one and to a much lesser extent the second.

Favorite series [In reply to] Can't Post

Marvel Universe!

I also like Jurassic Park (minus the third one which sucked) and Pirates.

Actually, while Jurassic World was enjoyable, it was full of too many glaring plotholes and painfully stupid decisions to take seriously. Like why, twenty minutes after showing tranquilized escaped pachycephalosauruses, did no one think to tranquilize the Indominus Rex? The whole time I was going "Shoot the thing with a tranquilizer you idiots!" Then, five minutes after being told the I. Rex can sense thermoradiation, it fails to detect a warm body under a car six inches in front of it. And why is the door to the I. Rex's pen the same height as the dinosaur itself?? Ten minutes after we're told the gyroball can stop a 50 caliber bullet, a dinosaur fang goes right through it. All of this made it nowhere near as scary as the first one. I was sitting there going "Yeah, OK, I can guess what's going to happen next" instead of "Oh crap, they're screwed!" The mosasaur was cool, but they were nowhere near that big (only ~50 feet, not freaking 600), and where did they get the DNA to clone that thing?! It's a sea creature, and there are no mosquitos out at sea to bite it and preserve the DNA. Why did they need to add treefrog DNA to the I. Rex to adapt it to a tropical climate when T-rexes and velociraptors (its parent genomes) have already been shown in the previous films to adapt to tropical climates? Why, if you add in the DNA of a smaller creature to a T-rex, do you get a finished result that's BIGGER than a T-rex? And if you're creating a new species of dinosaur, it's the "rex" part of the name that needs to change; "tyrannosaur" is the genus and that should have technically stayed the same. Surely people smart enough to clone dinosaur DNA should've known that. And the CGI looked worse than it did 20 years ago, especially the park infrastructure and the raven at the beginning. They didn't sell the weight of the dinosaurs at all; they run around like light-footed elves instead of the lumbering giants they were in the original.

I enjoy the Marvel Universe alot! [In reply to] Can't Post

The Thor and the Captain America movies are my favorite out of those!

Sadly, I haven't seen Jurassic Park yet, only Jurassic World. I bet the originals are excellent, though. Actually, I hadn't scene Jurassic World until about two weeks ago. My sisters saw it before in theaters, and they enjoyed it. I liked Jurassic World as well, but wasn't really into it when I watched it. I probably need to give it another go, though.

Me too :) [In reply to] Can't Post

I also liked Thor & Cap. Ant-Man was good too; funny and lighthearted and didn't take itself too seriously. That's what I like about Marvel compared to DC. I liked the first Avengers but hated the second; again too many glaring plotholes and too much mindnumbing action that makes the golden Smaug scene look like a calm walk in the park.

Definitely see the original Juarssic Park. It's the best of the lot.

But I'm hoping to get it from the library soon! I pretty much liked all of the Marvel films, except Iron Man 2 and 3, and I didn't care for Guardians to the Galaxy either, but I watch them when they are on.

Yes, I will definitely have to watch the Jurassic Park films!Smile

Since I could only vote for one... [In reply to] Can't Post

I voted for Star Wars (loved the Force Awakens, can't wait to see it again on New Year's Day), but I also like Pirates of the Caribbean and of course Jurassic Park and Jurassic World (which is a close second after the original, followed by TLW, which I find passable but not terrible, and JP3 last, since I don't care if I ever see this one again, because in this case, once was more than enough).Smile

And alot of people I l know, like the first two movies better.(Me included) The third one was good, but I felt it just wasn't up there with the other two. I have to admit though, I thought the acting of Eustace was perfect!

SW - The Original Trilogy + 1 [In reply to] Can't Post

I exclude the Star Wars prequels.

I was tempted to go for Studio Ghibli, but I don't think it really qualifies as an extended film universe!

Agree about Narnia [In reply to] Can't Post

I liked the first two, but the third was kind of a mess. They changed the whole story, the final battle was anticlimactic, and the acting was cringingly bad. And why did Caspian suddenly lose his accent?
