New LOTR EE Blu-ray release?

We just got to the end of the EEs journey with the recent release of the EE of TBOTFA. Now, Peter once said in the AUJ comments that he wanted to re-release the LOTR trilogy along with The Hobbit trilogy in a 6 movies pack and maybe adding new scenes or altering existing ones in the LOTR George Lucas style but always allowing us to watch the original unaltered version. I'm okay with this and I'm willing to see the release coming out. When do you think we'll be seeing this happening? I have the LOTR trilogy on DVD and the Hobbit on Blu-ray. I would buy a new LOTR version on BLu-ray. However, may Pet be waiting for the Ultra HD Blu-ray to make it into our homes in order to re-release LOTR along with the Hobbit in 4K?

So WETA would have to re-render everything. I'd say it's unlikely.

Still can benefit from HDR and the extended color gamout. But anyway this wasn't the point of my question.

investing in a 4K film restoration of one of the biggest box office records and cultural impact, of all time I think is a pretty safe bet for Warner and New Line... and it would be the only way to secure a massive double dip from the public
