Is there a way to ignore a user?

Some BBS software has a feature that enables you to ignore other users by name, so that their posts don't show up at all. Does this one have one of those?

Personally, I keep a list taped to the cork-board behind my computer. It's pretty long. (The list, not the cork-board.)
****************************************** "Mister Frodo, hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good frying pan at your side. I’ve been from one side of this garden to the other, I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Providence controlling everything. There's no Music of the Ainur that controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense."

"I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at." J.R.R. Tolkien We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.

Next time I'll just take pictures rather than trying to describe it. (Wait. I mean I'll photograph the arrangement, not physically pick up pictures... Oh, never mind!)

Since you've been so long on my regularly checked "Show User's Posts" list it'd take a lot of work for you to move from one to the other. Sounds like it's got lots of really important people on it. A lot of them think they are.

So I shouldn't wait by the letterbox this December after all??
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. The one I use when I check "Who's Online" before I post anything prissy. As for writing you a Christmas letter, I've tried but I just can't write upside-down.

I wonder if he has any left.
I am SMAUG! I kill when I wish! I am strong, strong, STRONG! My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunderbolt! My wings, a hurricane! And my breath, death!

and it was very handy. Sadly, we had to trade it in for several other excellent features when we moved to this setup in 2007. Now our only option is "Manual Ignore".
Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.

So if I change my settings to 'Manual Ignore', does that mean I can ignore all the TORn user manual rules and post whatever I like?

that the Admins never had the Ignore feature and it doesn't work on us. We see EVERYTHING.

Oh well, I might go and sit on the naughty step for a while and work on my fan edit - the definitive mash up of LOTR and The Hobbit with everything taken out except the horsies, exactly as Tolkien originally planned it. Fingers crossed Darkstone will see this awesome post and ignore me so I can get on the list.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer and close the eyes against some (nameless) posters or to imagine that they're really listening and just keep talking to the void of silence... Er...Sorry, forgotten what I was going to say. I must be ignoring myself!

was making up a Christmas box for her daughter, who was spending a year in Japan. My friend is a lovely person and also a bit of a ditz, and her husband enjoys teasing her. She was adding a calendar with scenes of local beauty to the box when he walked past and said "you know she's on the other side of the dateline." Which threw my friend into a tizzy, but she had to get the box mailed that day, so finally she stuck a post-it on the calendar which read "I know you'll figure this out" and sent it off. And got a very confused email from her daughter later . . .
