Kili's rants while ill in DOS

Hi, there is a thing in DOS that I never could understand. While ill in Laketown, and while Tauriel is taking care of him, Kili starts saying strange things due to the fever. What he says seems to **deny** that he fell in love with Tauriel. I dont know what he says in english (I am italian), but the italian dubber said something like "you are not her... you cant be like her.. it has been only a dream". Who is he speaking to? So he doesnt love Tauriel.... yet? Tauriel (who clearly is already in love with him) seems to agree with me, taking it as if Kili is talking with her and comparing her with a previous love he had, so she seems a little bit hurt by what she hears, convincing herself he does not love her, and becomes blue. Then, in BOTFA, Kili suddenly is in love with her, asks her to go with him to Erebor, and then gives here his stone. What did I miss? What about those previous rants then? I see nobody talking about it, so am I the only one who missed it (even if i saw the films at least 5 times)?

In that scene where Kili was saying "you are not her," he meant that he thought that he was only imagining that the woman taking care of him was Tauriel. He didn't believe that she could really be there.

Tauriel is not there. It is only someone that looks like her and he thinks she is still in mirkwood. And he is saying that he is in love with Tauriel but he don't know If she is in love with him. Here is the english version https://youtu.be/jeJFZ48oRRA

"She walks in starlight" was a reference to her conversation in the dungeons, where she told him about walking out of their borders to see the stars. I think he thought he was imagining Tauriel when he said "you cannot be her, she is far away." When he asked "Do you think she could have loved me?", that was pretty much an admission of his love for her. At that point, I wasn't sure how she felt about him. I interpreted the look on her face as a mix of surprise and affection, but I am still not sure just how much affection was there. I think the subtitler screwed up.

Makes a great case for why purist and filmmaker-as-simple-visual-transcriber mentality is artistic anathema. So happy we live in a world where the music, dialogue and images from this scene exist. It makes the end of 'Smaug' for me.
