Does the Lord of the Rings illustrated by Alan Lee have reasonably large print?

How large is the print in the hardcover edition of Lord of the Rings illustrated by Alan Lee? Why I ask: My tired old eyes are beginning to have some difficulty reading the paperback book editions, so the larger print in most hardcover editions would be a boon.

My eyes, too. I have the three volume edition illustrated by Alan Lee, and I very much like it. I would say the printing is fairly large. I printed up a sample of text to compare to the book, and it looks like a size 9 font compares. I guess? The pages are somewhat glossy, but that really isn't a big deal.

- of both TH and LotR. And, for some reason, The Children of Hurin. They're not easy to get hold of these days, but worth looking out for.

"Somewhat large" is good! While what I said is true, I think I might really be motivated by wanting an excuse to spend the money on Yet Another edition of Lord of the Rings because I covet the Alan Lee illustrations. :) Being able to read it without a magnifying glass would be good, too!
