Downton Abbey series six preview!

As much as I've enjoyed DA, some seasons more than others, I thought I was ready to let go. But watching this preview got me really choked up. Seriously, it's kind of pathetic how emotional I felt. Anyway, it says it's coming in September, but I think that's just on ITV in the the UK. We in the US will probably have to wait until spring. *Spoiler alert* It doesn't show anything explicitly, but you do get a sense of what's coming. http://youtu.be/WPwaCjE8DcY

Downton's been a class production, overall, and it'll be sad to see the end of it. But at least if what was hinted at in season 5 is an indication of how the "downstairs" storyline is going to progress, it'll be a great way to end the series.

... but found the rest lacking after Matthew and Sybil died. I think the only good thing about continuing to watch Downton Abbey is Maggie Smith... she always leaves me in stitches.

The second season was good, but I was so bothered by how they turned Isobelle into such a ridiculous busy body that it interfered with my overall enjoyment. She was always one of my favorite characters, so I was very much relieved when they gave her her dignity back in season three. I didn't care much for the fourth season either; it was too scattershot. I really enjoyed the last season-- more than I thought I would--but I can see why some didn't like it; there was a lot of recycling of previous storylines. But yes, Violet was always entertaining.

And I think an admirable attempt has been made for seasons 4 and 5. Congrats on their Emmy nom! But I truly haven't enjoyed it as much since Matthew and Sybil's deaths, particularly Matthew, they have been struggling--and I'm glad to see it end now while the bar is still as high as it is. Yes, the downstairs story looks so promising. I can deal with what looks to be the main ending, but nobody else better die!

I've have examined the clip scrupulously several times. The only black I see her in is her riding outfit. Have I missed it?

Z, I believe the U.S. should be getting it soon after the new year.

Nice to always have that to look forward to after the holidays but I still wish they'd been successful in airing it here the same time as the UK. Oh well, the preview looks promising .

You're right. I just saw the black hat, veil, and her stricken expression, and immediately thought, "Oh, no! Who died?!" But yes, it is her riding habit. However, i wouldn't put past Fellowes to kill off at least one more key character. I didn't see Isobelle or Bates anywhere in the clip...just sayin'.

It's nice to have something to look forward to during that rather bleak time after the holidays and before spring.

Her former suiuter in a photo. And I saw another picture of Bates and Anna, so I don't think they die.

I've only seen the clip on my smartphone (too little), and on my tablet (which for some reason looks all pixelated). So, between the little screen and the blurry image, I didn't see them.
