I found it in a news article today: I can't tell where he is, but it's pretty freakin' AWESOME! Could it be from the BOT5A EE? If so, where? (Yeah, I guess I'm all about pictures today)

Seems like part of the riddles in the dark set from AUJ.

Well, he is dressed as in AUJ, and the those rocks remeber me from Misty Moutains This scene does not exist. I think it is an early scene version of when the orcs appear

In AUJ after the stone giants, they find shelter. Bilbo is trying to sleep in the cave. He looks at his sword (as in this pic) and it's glowing blue. Shadows come charging in and Bilbo draws Sting (seen in the AUJ trailer) the shadows grab Bilbo and Bilbo wakes up. He then decides to leave, has a conversation with Bofur and then the sword really is glowing blue and floor opens. I imagine it was cut because it seemed a bit confusing. I think I remember reading he was also going to see the Ring and that the sequence was supposed to show that his finding the ring was fate, or that the Ring was calling him in his sleep or something. A similar dream does occur in the book, but I'm glad it got cut in the movie.

I wonder if this was part of the original two-film version, where the Bofur/Bilbo conversation happens later in the story? We've already seen an alternate of the doors opening with Bifur being awake and playing with a toy. Maybe this is one of the sections of AUJ that got altered.

You're right! I never noticed that shot wasn't used in AUJ. I thought it looked like part of the stone giants sequence. But yes, it certainly is in the cave above Goblin Town (with Bifur and his wooden toy).

In the book he had a dream that the floor opened up and he was falling down into the dark, exactly what happens in the movie!
