new packaging? boxsets..ultimate editions! Can't Post

Is there any news of any reissuing/packaging of the lotr bluray extended boxset? It seems the perfect time to coincide this with the release of the hobbit boxset or will they wait for the hobbit extended boxset (when will that be releasd?) the lotr boxset now is a rather ugly affair both this and the individual blurays dont match really with the any hobbit releases so far.

I guess it would be wiser to wait for the hobbit extended release if there is one, and hopefully theyll be some continuity with the packaging so they sit well on a bookshelf. Ill buy BOTFA ext 3d bluray when it comes out, but i may be tempted to splash out on the 3d ext boxset if it matches with a lotr one!

oh hang on, what about the fabled ultimate edition? every thing altogether! one day maybe!

New packaging [In reply to] Can't Post

It would be nice for the LOTR movies to get new covers. I never liked the ones from the EE boxset. They were just cheap stock photos instead of the beautiful creative artwork we're used to.

I didn't like they used the same five characters for all three movies either. More variety would've definitely been appreciated. I'm fine with Frodo, Aragorn and Gandalf being front and centre, but they should've rotated the other characters around a bit. It would have been nice to include Legolas, Gimli and Gollum in there somewhere. And we really didn't need Arwen featured on all three - they should've left her on just one and include Galadriel and Eowyn on the other two.
