When fantasy worlds collide....or should we say when ancestors meet? Both are intelligent beings in spider form. Both appear of similar size.

So, physically, he was impressive, he did not have the same level of "lifeforce" contained in Shelob "an evil thing in spider form", child of Ungoliant.
