Yes, it didn't really work as an effect for me, in terms of the look of the thing. [In reply to] Can't Post

I think the slow motion doesn't help. I just tried watching it speeded-up and it's much more effective.

I find most of legolas scenes ok it's just the barrel fight ... [In reply to] Can't Post

...and the defining gravity scenes that I find far too ott in terms of what legolas can physically do.

I have mentioned this before but for me a big factor in how believable I find legolas physical abilities is his surrounding environment. In lord of the rings he was for the majority of time the only elf amongst non elves so even though his abilities and stunts were ott compared to those of his comrades it was still believable for me because the elves were presented as having superior abilities than others. In theory any other elf on his position could pull off the same stunts.

In the hobbit films not only has the ott nature of his stunts increased but he is surrounded by other elves who should have this same physics defying super ability as legolas but rarely display it anywhere close to his level if at all. For me this just makes the ridiculously ott nature of legolas abilities in the hobbit films more noticeable and less believable.

But I do think it's more the barrel balancing scene, the using his sword as a joystick to pilot an orc, and the defying gravity scene that go too far the rest of his appearances in the hobbit movies his abilities are more in line with how he was in lord of the rings.
