swordwhale curiosity in NZ

A friend sent me a link to this video... Because it's a swordwhale... doing swordwhale stuff... http://www.grindtv.com/wildlife/orca-bites-the-back-of-mans-sup-paddleboard/#lhPWYKjt1j6HUxYV.97 Since orcas aren't known to attack random humans, or consider us prey (not counting the crazy ones we've jailed in marine parks), and this looks like a small female or a young male (mooncurved fin, not surfboard tall), I'm guessing he/she is just curious... oooo, let's taste that... I mean, no hands, no sense of smell underwater, so, taste...

Now I know. Orcas are so pretty! Looks like the little guy/girl was just curious to me. Like you said, they don't have hands and they can't sniff stuff, so they have to investigate things by putting them in their mouths. Kind of like human toddlers, Lol! I guess the surfboard didn't taste very good since little orca swam away after that. Thanks for sharing swordwhale!

is the name used by several European countries including my German American ancestors... Eric Hoyt's book, "Orca, the Whale called Killer" is fairly old but excellent, and contains dozens of names for orca in various languages including some unpronounceable (to European-based ears) Native America names like Mak-eh-nuk (which doesn't even have all the sounds that are really in Kwakiutl).

I thought your name referenced Narhwals!
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.
