I think most of those could have worked, except maybe "Age of Dragons" and "To the Death". "Age of Dragons" is flat out inaccurate, and I think "To the Death" (although technically a line from the movie) would be a bit too generic. My top pick of yours would be: Beyond the Shire Into the Fire Battle for the Mountain

My choices: First movie The Hobbit – An old WIZARD gets “Good Morninged”. The Hobbit – A Furry-footed pipe-smoker feeds 13 STRANGERS. The Hobbit – A bebothered HOBBIT gets “Struck by lightning”. The Hobbit – 13 Dwarves DON’T “chip the glasses or break the plates”. Second movie The Hobbit – “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important DATE!” The Hobbit – A ride toward a FOURTEENTH SHARE causes SADDLE-SORES. The Hobbit – A purse with a BIG mouth creates a SACKFUL of havoc. Third movie The Hobbit – FIFTEEN nearly become crisp orc SAMMICHES. The Hobbit – A Fire-dragon takes a BATH. The Hobbit – Messrs. Grubb, Grubb, and BURROWES are DISCHARGED. The End
Boromir looked in surprise at Bilbo, but the laughter died on his lips when he saw that all the others regarded the old hobbit with grave respect. Only Glóin smiled, but his smile came from old memories. -JRR Tolkien

They have phrases like "eleventy-one" and whatnot. "There and back again" is believably acceptable when written/said by a hobbit, in my eyes.

I'd say yes, it does make sense. Strictly speaking you're right, it's unnecessary. He went there: he came back. But it is in common usage, isn't it? "Are you going for good, or are you coming back again?" "Oh, it's all right - I'm coming back again." Or that old Scottish favourite, "Will ye no come back again?" In all those circumstances I suppose the 'again' refers to the person's presence once again at the starting point (there, see, I've done it too! ) How else could I put it... the person's renewed presence at the starting point - but that doesn't trip easily off the tongue. T'isn't necessary but we say it anyway...

In the old Scottish saying, it could be that it means 'Are you coming back again' because you have been away more than once. Also, I wouldn't say, 'Are you going for good, or are you coming back again.' In this case the 'again' is certainly superfluous – unless it refers to someone who has been away more than once. Similarly, I'd always use 'Are you coming back' without an 'again'. Odd how such things slip into the language – there are other such strange uses, though I can't think of any at the moment. See – you can't wriggle your way out of this one, Dormouse.

"Again" refers to making the journey twice....once there, and again to return. That's how I always understood it.

Wriggly creatures is dormice, and I think in this case we both have a point. If 'again' means 'are you making the return journey for a second time' and you haven't made it once yet, then it's superfluous (point to Glorfindela). If it means 'will I see you in this place once more in the future or is your departure final' then it isn't superfluous (point to dormouse!)
