Well, "Hannibal" is cancelled Can't Post

http://www.irishexaminer.com/...and-gone-683332.html

I've been trying to watch this show this season because of Richard Armitage, and after last Thursday's episode I can't honestly be sure I'll hang on long enough for Richard to appear. I don't know, "stylish," "provacative," etc. is nice, but this show is S-L-O-W!!! Maybe I'm just a typical American with ADD, or maybe I'm too used to "Criminal Minds." I can handle the gruesome, but not the slow pace. Oh well, live and learn. Seems that Richard's got plenty of movies on his plate - in addition to "Clearance" in November he's also reportedly involved in a remake of Edith Wharton's "Summer," and will be both producing and starring in something about Brigit Cleary. Meanwhile, I'll wait less than patiently for "Urban," "Sleepwalker" and "Pilgrimage."

Sad, because the show was very good.... [In reply to] Can't Post

.... But I'm hoping this frees Mads Mikkelson up for a role on Game of Thrones.

Euron Greyjoy anybody? Oh yes.

Not over 'til it's over. [In reply to] Can't Post

There is interest in moving the show elsewhere. And I don't consider the decision final just yet. There is still time for NBC execs to change their minds (not that I would recommend that anyone hold his/her breath). Still, if the show stays cancelled then I can understand the reasoning from the network.

And this: https://twitter.com/...s/613486685582528512 In the article he links to, it says that having a panel at SDCC might increase their chances of being picked up by another network. Seems to me this would work well on cable or online streaming.

But that was an awfully cute drawing. Smile

Funny you should say that [In reply to] Can't Post

Many of Richard's fans would like to see him in that role, heheCool I don't watch GoT, so personally I don't care, not even Richard will get me to subscribe to HBO.

SDCC [In reply to] Can't Post

That's what I've read: that NBC announcing the cancellation now was a strategy to give the show a much better chance of being picked up by Amazon or Netflix or some such place.

(I don't watch it, but then, I don't watch most of what's on TV! Laugh)

That tattoo is fascinating, though. It's far more extensive than what he had to get painted on as Lucas North - I can't imagine having to stand so still for so long!

Well, the one good thing about the Red Dragon story [In reply to] Can't Post

is that it is self-contained and you can just start watching Hannibal, episodes 8-13, to see the whole thing. And, from what Bryan Fuller and the cast and crew of the show are saying about RA's performance, it will be well worth watching. Even Martha De Laurentiis has tweeted to say that RA is such an outstanding actor that he is a future Oscar winner. (Hope she's right). Not only is his portrayal apparently terrifying, it is also very moving and has reduced those editing it to tears.

I've never watched Hannibal, but I came across this and remembered this thread. Yahoo Screen gave my beloved "Community" another season so who knows. As Aragorn says, there's always hope. Smile
