Rest easy, ShireHorse.... [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't hear any trace of an American accent there. He uses a few American words - "Hi" and "guys" and so on, but the accent sounds - well, like he always sounds. RP with distinct overtones of the Midlands and Yorkshire.

No – no trace of an American accent I can hear, either. [In reply to] Can't Post

In passing, I do wish this fashion for beards (and stubble) would go away now – just don't know why men like them so much. In RA's case the beard is not too bad (though I think he looks better clean shaven), but I often find finely trimmed beards, with short, well-cut hairstyles, somewhat repulsive. (Not too sure why, because I do like the beard on the character of Thorin, and on rugged men with long hair in general.)

IMHO, of course.

Why didn't PJ pick up his own award? [In reply to] Can't Post

Well, it was because he was in Oxford, visiting Tokien's old college and giving a talk at the magnificent Sheldonian Theatre there.

I am just about to put up more info on the OT board.
