BoFA Extended Edition on Amazon UK - 16 November 2015

It's not available for pre-order yet but Amazon.co.uk have pages up for the Extended Editions releases of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and all have a release date of 16 November 2015. No other details (the disc counts are notably off) but given that Amazon would have gotten that date from the distributors it's a safe bet to pop it in our calendars. There are two links for the blu-ray (likely the 3D/2D combo and the steelbook, same as previous years), one for the DVD and another for an Extended Edition trilogy boxset. Given that we get our releases on a Monday that should leave the US as 17 November for their release (or 10 November if they release it the week before, as they did with AUJ - which we can't grumble about as we got the theatrical release of BoFA a week earlier!) http://www.amazon.co.uk/...e+of+the+five+armies

Well, kinda. Nice find! The tension of what's in, what's out, will be unbearable..... Plus, I can hope for more interviews, and even if the last WETA book is mostly about battles it's on the purchase list...AND re an earlier thread there is an incredible collectible.... And you never know, the day may come when we do get an ultra-long, mega-director cut of all 3 films.

If this is accurate then we should be seeing an official press release any time now.

Warner are officially announcing their early October titles now. I still think it will be between 4-6 weeks for details and a clip (if they stick to the same formula)

But we can mutter! That's alright, I guess I just have to avoid some spoilers, I can't wait for the EE! The Theatrical (in my opinion) was amazing, but there are still so many good scenes in the EE.

...instead of that trailer I saw in theaters back in December. (Only half joking)
"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that." - Viggo Mortensen

I don't look forward to the extra scenes particularly.

Although it will be good to see new material, for me, it's a separate film - the twelfth of the series. If past experience is anything to go on, the added material will alter the way the whole film is structured, so I will hopefully enjoy even the current scenes more, because they will have a new context. So far, for my tastes, PJ is better at the long form than the 'short' form films (I expect that has something to do with not having the studio breathing down your neck), so I'm looking forward to the final release more than I was to the last one in December. Be nice to see it in the cinema, though. On a related note, have the previous extended editions been available to cinemas in the past? Presumably, with digital, it's a lot easier - just a question of the studio giving permission and renting it out?

I just need a 2 digit number, the extra running time. Will PJ be so kind to tell us? Pretty please?

I haven't seen BotFA since theaters. I've never been able to hold out without buying the theatrical dvd, but this time I'm going to do it. (Being broke helps too.) The waiting is absolute torture. That's the one thing I've always hated about PJ's movies - if you don't want to pay for the blu ray twice, you have to wait an additional 8 months, whereas other movies are available to own 3 months after the theater release.

30 or More MINUTES Might relieve the... "ITCH we can't Scratch" Maybe these scenes were left out for a... Reason? Maybe PJ wants to Prolong the Anticipation...............! If bomby was in his shoes? He wouldn't want it to END EITHER. NEITHER.. would you.. PJ's "Never-Ending Story" for many of us is the Story of our lives. "ONE more Take for Luck"
