I just saw this article. First Andrew Lesnie and now Christopher Lee, so very sad. But Lee lived a very long life and gave great performances right up until the end. He is a legend that will be missed.

A true icon of cinema, his immortality is assured. I'm just glad we got to see him reprise his role as Saruman. If there is additional footage of him then watching the EE will be a very poignant experience.

I'm surprised that Mr. Lee's family was able to keep his death out of the news for four days. I guess the British press is better at respecting family wishes than their U.S. cousins.

He had only recently signed on another project - a movie set in the hours before 9/11.
I think it was always his wish never to retire and work right until the end... glad his wished was fulfilled.
I love what he said asked how he managed to stay married for so long: "Marry someone wonderful." He had so many sides to him... much more than that of a "horror legend".

It broke my heart to see the news this morning. He lived a long, very full life, and was one of the more interesting people this world has known.
I'm so glad he was able to finish out the Middle Earth films. It would have been all the more devastating if they would have had to have "dubbed in" Saruman (or cut him entirely) from BoFA.

I guess part of me thought if anyone was going to live forever, it would be he.
Sir Christopher was an extraordinary man and we are so fortunate to have had him bring Saruman to life in all the Middle-earth movies. If the cinematic world has a version of the Grey Havens, he will surely have an honored place there.

An amazing life and career and his voice was pure gold.
We are fortunate that he was able to participate in The Hobbit. It was always a concern as the filming start was dragging on and on.
