and she said most people are OK, but the roads and highways are flooded. Our office in Houston is closed for the day, and schools are closed.

My area is drenched and blown about a bit, but isn't nearly as bad off as Houston or San Marcos/Wimberley, to say nothing of places that have been hit with tornados. My family and friends are all right, if with some tales to tell of rain, rising waters, and hair-raising drives. I've been wondering about Darkstone---some parts of his area have had to be evacuated. I hope he and his family are okay. Thank you for asking, Ethel.
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow....

Sounds like gardening may be difficult for awhile! Hope nothing has gotten ruined. We're suffering from drought up here--but all told, I'd rather have that. I do hope we hear from Darkstone soon.

... I think she's active on FB if anyone is able to check on her. I'm sure Alassëa is okay, being a shield-maiden and all.

The Eruvandes are fine. We live on a bit of a limestone hill, so it would truly be a flood of Biblical proportions that would wash us away. The creeks on either side of us didn't even make it over the road. We spent Memorial weekend in Fredericksburg, TX, at the Chester Nimitz Museum, and drove back in the deluge. Quite exciting to see all the creeks and rivers with actual water in them. They have been pretty empty for many years now. Most of the heaviest rain went south of us to Wimberly and San Marcos. Plus they got all the drainage from up river. However, our local lake is at 100 % capacity, and Lake Travis in Austin is up 28 feet and 66 % full. The "Sometimes Islands" in Lake Travis are covered up, but you can still see the tops of the mesquite trees that are growing there. Since last Wednesday, we have gotten about 7.5 inches of rain in our back yard. But others have gotten much more. We also managed to avoid the high winds that were swirling around us through several of the storms. We had two tornado warnings close to us, but nothing materialized, thank goodness. Thanks for asking. It's nice to be missed!
I am SMAUG! I kill when I wish! I am strong, strong, STRONG! My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunderbolt! My wings, a hurricane! And my breath, death!

Been following the news. Some grim stuff. We are as dry as bone here. I'm watering mature plants and trees as I see flagging tips from dry conditions. I think its the Super El-nino effect.

House and family okay so far. Lost some nose hair working an industrial NaOH release, but otherwise I'm okay too. Got home a couple of hours ago to get some sleep but flooding is getting really bad again so I'm off again. Glad to hear my fellow Texhoma TORnsibs are okay. Stay safe and God bless. .

You stay safe too!
Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.
