I quite loved Erebor. The emerald green stones and gold were beautiful.

Right XD In the first movie I really loved the place with the waterfalls that the Company passes under. And the clip before it with the mountains and the valley. Also loved the location of Beorn's house. Wish we saw more of that

WE must remember that what was shot on Location was Hand-Picked because it looked like MiddleEARTH, @Least for the terrain & Backgrounds. ............ .......... .... but then with great care, returned to it's Natural state, except for the SHIRE. Bom's personal WISH? Is that?.. a 30 Hectare part, of the HUGE FOREST just West & North of the Anderson's FARM, could be bought & set aside for a Campground? Turn it into the "OLD Forest" where people tramping throughout NZ or in.. Campers could gather around a CampFire & sing Tolkien's Songs & read Chapters of his Books to each other...by firelight under the Southern CROSS? A "CrowdSourced Non-Profit" administered by The One Ring.net There could be? some "SEED Capital" for this idea in Wellington, Miramar & Seatoun.. kinda like an ACORN..? WHAT??? Bom just DROPPED.. a BOMB shell? Unexpected Thingies like this... idea happen all the time. THIS proposal is Here-By timestamped today 5/24/15 & in no way is Authorized by the Fine people that bring us TORn everyday. This idea was Goldberry's wish. & its a Good WISH..

The Dwarves walk through the area right after leaving Rivendell, and it's the scene where they walk under the waterfall. Next year I will travel to NZ and going to Earnslaw Burn is a MUST! I also hope to see Lake Pukaki and Mount Cook, which is where the Laketown refugees are standing on the shore. Paradise (Beorn's house) would be cool if I can work it in, and naturally Hobbiton (Mata Mata) will probably be where I start. Actually, I'd like to see the whole freakin' country, if I can. I will definitely stop in Wellington and tour Weta if possible. That's the plan, I could go on about the Pelorus river and other places, but since you asked for the favorite that would be Earnslaw Burn.

with the waterfalls - see my post below. Beorn's house was filmed in Paradise, literally! I got this book on the Hobbit locations by Ian Brodie, lots of good info!

Bom only owns the first one, but there are more GPS co-ordinates in those, than last years The Hobbit book...Wonder why? More of TH was shot indoor, of course. Also, they didn't have as many Studios in Miramar during the LOTR...King Kong's Set is the Biggest.
