RIP Uraeus (Brego) Can't Post

The lovely horse that played Brego in two of the Lord of the Rings movies and bought by Viggo (Aragorn) afterwards passed away:

‘Aged 28, but a timeless presence in the minds of those who had the honour of knowing this proud, handsome, and supremely intelligent being, mighty Uraeus has finally come to rest on the physical plane. Thank you, Jane and Ray, for helping him do so with dignity. Dearest friend and teacher, I hold you and keep you.’ - Viggo Mortensen.

Unsure Rest in peace. 28 is a good age. Uraeus can run the green fields with both Shadowfax'es now (Domero and Blanco). <3
My condolences to Viggo too, I know how painful it is too lose an animal Heart

Jed Brophy sent his condolences on twitter too.

Oh no... [In reply to] Can't Post

He was so incredible. I think of him coming to Aragorn at the river and rearing in response to Viggo's rallying cry in front of the Black Gate... the bond and trust were apparent seen in those few instants. This is so sad..

Sad news [In reply to] Can't Post

He was a beautiful horse. I'm sure he'll be much missed by the people who loved him.

I'd take him to the taxidermist. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't usually like taxidermy, but how cool would it be to have Brego preserved. Unimpressed

How sad. [In reply to] Can't Post

Just the other day my niece asked about Brego. I told her the stories from the LOTR EEEs, about how Viggo bought Brego, and how he out-bid an exec for Arwen's horse and then gave it to her stunt rider... condolences to Mr. Mortensen for the loss of his friend.

Condolences to Viggo. So heartbreaking. [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm so glad he had such a great life, though.

He certainly will never be forgotten.

My best to Viggo and everyone close to that horse. [In reply to] Can't Post

He was a character in his own right.

What a beautiful animal he was. [In reply to] Can't Post

Every time I view the films I think, wow he's gorgeous. I wish I could have known him.

My own loyal steed is 28 also, and I know it's just a matter of time although he's in good health so far.
