He was a drama queen in every frame, and all that melodramatic twisting and writhing after he was shot was like a cross between an operatic diva and a B-movie blackhat cowboy.

In GoblinTown, .. he NAILED a LOT just with the Railing SMART MOVE...@ LEAST 30 there. IMPOSSIBLE to count? That was likely their LARGEST Body Count in the whole TRILOGY.. WHAT a TEAM effort! & Bilbo missed the Whole THINGIE... Gandalf blew away maybe 50 just with his BLAST from his STAFF which was about KICKASS as we have ever seen Gandalf do. Major KUDOS go...to Thrandy with his MooseRIDE! MUST have decapitated @least 8 in the Antlers... Quite an effective weapon...such a Creative way to BLAST BEASTIES...

It seems different for each one, so I'm not 100% those numbers are perfect, but they give a rough idea. For example, in the post charge, they only give kills to Dwalin, but for "Cut the Ropes" they give 23 kills each to Thorin, Ori, and Dori (23 goblins are killed, so each is credited with 23 kills, instead of dividing the 23 kills among the 3 of them, which would be 7.67 each instead).

Okay he sorta Kills the First Orc he encounters, BUT they both Fall & Gollum finishes Him off on his Island. Then, He does kill the One who is about to Kill Thorin in "Into the Frying Pan" sequence, as well as a ..WARG. Then, In Mirkwood, Kills @least a couple of Spiders & that Centipede-Thingie. LONG.. break, but with some Rocks {Like in the Book} knocks OUT a few Orcs @ Ravenhill... But in the Main Battle? ZERO. Or SSOoo...Bomby THINKS?

The title of your post had me having one other those "eye-rolling-heavy-sigh-what-is-up-with-people-moments. Why, I was almost having a perverse and compulsive urge to construct another thoughtful dissertation on the "Hair of Middle Earth - A Realistic Look at Mythological Manes in Battle Conditions". Still - and possibly it is a highly evolved dwarven skill - in no way has ample pilosity ever affected our dwarven king's FEROCITY in BATTLE: So, favorite deaths? Why, Thorin is a joy to watch, many favorite moments - including slicing and dicing his way through the goblin tunnels, and in BOFA quite like watching him duck, shove an orc down, and decapitate the unfortunate creature. And the way Thorin wields a broken sword is a thing of beauty, IMO. We also have the powerhouse Dwalin, wielding his axe? more like a sledgehammer. And I love that little moment with Bilbo in the river, when everyone is trapped at the bridge, and Bilbo is hanging onto a barrel and sticks Sting into an orc and saves Nori. Also IMO weighing in with more sheer beauty to watch - the elegant and deadly Thranduil, like silver death in BOFA, leaving bodies of orcs piled around in his wake. What a great topic! Never realized how much I was enjoying the slaughter, and supposedly re the comment from WETA re the EE "just you wait" - it seems there will be so much more goodness in the form of flying orc heads to be had!

Maybe, just MAYBE we will get an "Official BODY COUNT" in the Commentaires this November... Someone on the STAFF must be keeping a "Running Total" THAT piece of TRIVIA? would make a NICE Holiday Gift from PJ&CO.for FANS {like Bomby} that are into THAT? Sorta of THINGIE as long as it's done Tastefully..

There WAS, this Huge Troll storming up some ramp into The City of Dale? Archers shoot him in the Head... & Then he falls BACK smashing about 50 or more orcs that ARE just behind him... Those ORCS had NO Plan? for that to happen. Which makes Bomby wonder..just what IZZz.. the relationship between Trolls & Orcs? Are the Trolls their Slaves? OR Are they just there just... to do the Heavy lifting? How do you teach a Troll to do anything? Some become kinda like the Oliphants, as a Ride? like a Tall Tank. {The HARADRIM had it Easy..If you have enough HUGE peanuts deep down in Near HARAD} The One's with Catapults on their shoulders were AWESOME! but this begs the QUESTION? WHO is in charge?..the Moria Trolls, ... or some ORC Captain running the Catapult? Do they have a common language? Do they eat together? WAS there one TROLL to Rule them ALL?

Which makes Bomby wonder..just what IZZz.. the relationship between Trolls & Orcs? Are the Trolls their Slaves? When we consider the chains on the Cave-troll in Moria then that is probably a good guess. Some trolls were smart enough to be able to learn common (Westron) so why not Orkish? The Olog-hai were able to use the Black Speech of Mordor, but they were also the most intelligent amd crafty breed of troll.

Hm, much to choose from ... I'm going with the Master of Lake-town - *splat!* Honorable mention goes to the Orc that Galadriel blasted with her ring. As for Goblin-town, my favorite scene is when Gandalf drops a boulder & rolls over a few, though it's kind of hard to see them. Dwalin is certainly a bad-ass warrior, I imagine he got at least 50 of those Goblin mercenaries, but what about Kili? When he was going on his "Kili-ing spree" to avenge his brother? I counted about 6, how many did anyone else count?
