I thought these might be some light relief - Kiwis have sent photos of their favourite signs around NZ. to Radio New Zealand's website. There are some real gems in here. Feel free to add your own.

This is one of my favourite Christchurch ones I took a few years ago. Sorry the quality is bad.

That Taranaki Woo Hoo sign is part of a trilogy.

When you're driving into the region you first see a big sign saying, 'Welcome to Taranaki'. The second sign says, 'Woo Hoo', and the third says 'Why not swap sides?' with a URL to go to that has information on why it's a good idea to move permanently to Taranaki.

so I have no backing for this at all, that for years there was the Wisconsin Tourism Federation that a few years ago decided to change its name after its members realised its acronym was commonly understood to mean something else entirely.
Can anyone confirm that?

"Toad Suck next exit" There's actually a town named Toad Suck in Arkansas not far off highway 40. When I've had occasion to visit Little Rock, I've always looked forward to Toad Suck along the way.
