If you're in upstate New York and want to listen, tune to 91.3 FM at 9 am; if you live elsewhere, it will be streamed live through wioxradio.org at 1 pm Greenwich Mean Time - however that translates to your time zone. It will be available as a podcast later as well.

Can you remind me what your book is called and what it's about?

I very much enjoyed reading Jane Eyre's Sisters and I hope lots of other people find it and enjoy it, too.
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow....

*reads from book cover* Jane Eyre's Sisters: How women live and write the heroine's story. *flips book over* With four "previews" on the back cover, probably the most descriptive is by Annis Pratt: "Drawn from novels, myths and folk tales, popular culture, and auto-biography, Jody Bower's many examples of women who wander 'from place to place searching for love or freedom or answers' make her book a treasure trove. Both women and men will find her insights as illuminating as they are startling." But my favorite is by a certain "Lily Fairbairn": "Provocative, informative, and highly entertaining! A valuable resource for creating strong and believable female characters." (No review from me yet, I've only just started it.) Congratulations, Annael!

It's a great book, one I enjoyed a lot.

This book is outside my area of expertise, but I enjoyed it a lot. It's very well written, making it easy to read for someone like me who is not an expert. I loved all the examples, not only from literature, but also from movies and real life. Some of my favorite heroines from literature were mentioned, including Jo March, Eowyn, Elizabeth Bennet, and even, to my surprise and delight, Flora Poste. And she made me see Jane Eyre, who has never been a favorite of mine, in a new light. The thesis seems to be that women in fiction and often in real life have a different journey from the classic "hero's journey" described by Joseph Campbell and others. Instead of going "there and back again", the heroine often goes on a transformative journey from which she does not return to her old life. I don't particularly see the world in terms of gender, so I could see this archetype applying equally to many men, which means that men could enjoy this book as much as I did.

The Corning station is too weak to carry to Lackawanna. I did attempt to use their website but that didn't work either. Actually, I ended up having to perform a system restore on our laptop!
