Our local falcon cam has shown that two of the four eggs in the nest have hatched so far. Cute little fluff balls http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/falconcam

I see they are starting to fledge the fluff and the darker feathers are visible today. Those parents seem experienced, they feed both chicks and not too much rivalry at all. Hubby could not sleep without dreaming about them last week: by nightfall one parent had not returned and he was *that* worried. But they flew in by morning.

I clicked on the eagle link in time to see both parents on the nest, each feeding one of the eaglets.

wildlife webcams are great, gives everyone a chance to get involved from a safe (for the birds) distance. We have a pair of Pergrines nesting on the Rachel Carson bldg. in Harrisburg PA, with a webcam. Also the eagles near Lake Marburg (Codorus State Park). There's and osprey cam somewhere in Maryland, and people got really involved in the family drama. the problem is when people do't understand how nature actually works (in a low prey year, the smallest/youngest babies get bullied and die of starvation). There has been a great effort in all these cases to educate the public. Pretty wonderful.
