Was very noble of Kili to desperately warn Tauriel to get out of the way of the stampede of besotted, enraged, fangirls.

Thorin taught his royal nephews the art of the Smoulder, yes. They had that one down. But I don't think he got as far as the Awkward Slide with them before tragedy struck. *sniff*

Thorin taught his royal nephews the art of the Smoulder, yes. They had that one down. But I don't think he got as far as the Awkward Slide with them before tragedy struck. *sniff* Personally, my heart goes out to the bloodthirsty fans who so want this funeral scene in the EE, which in fact will actually happen. But verily, my heart palpates knowing what I know - having discovered a juicy tidbit via FB from a brother-in-law whose cousin knows this guy whose sister runs the company that does the snack vending machines for the WETA company - that mid-way through the funeral scene, when Thranduil places the Arkenstone on Thorin's breast, Thorin wakes up from the *shock* his injury caused, and tho wounded manages to roar any number of curses in dwarvish at the Woodland King. This in turn wakes Fili up, whose blood loss was simply overcome by his sturdy dwarvish physique. The combined magic of the love of Tauriel and the love of the Durins (along with Thorin threatening to hammer the white gems to glitter powder unless Thranduil helps out) call Kili back from *the fields lit by starlight where he was going to wait forever for Tauriel* as Kili describes later (tho no-one is sure if it's the ale talking that was consumed during Thorin's coronation party.) Or, as Peter Jackson was overheard to say "I like tweaking the fans. And anyway, coming back from the dead is pretty normal in Middle Earth, and movies in general these days. Besides, nobody smoulders like those three - looks great on the posters!"

Excellent, I'm glad to hear that the rumor has been confirmed by such a legitimate source. I am now looking forward to the EE to watch this unfold in all of its #majestic glory.
