2 RIDDLES

1. Under the starlit skies at night Its use may give you great delight; Or a lengthy probe may be a risk, So to stay dry do keep it brisk. What am I? 2. Severally these were left behind, A riddle for new owners. The heirs, even though not blind Did not see the donor. What are we?
'Here is the heart of Elvendom on earth, and here my heart dwells ever, unless there be a light beyond the dark roads that we still must tread, you and I. Come with me!' And taking Frodo's hand in his, he left the hill of Cerin Amroth and came there never again as living man.

The hidden dwarf doors of Moria and Erebor?
Silverlode Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known.

Not unless two is Severally Back in your teapot. Thanks Dormouse It seems I may have to give the answer to this one? HINT - It's from -The Hobbit- (Book of course)
'Here is the heart of Elvendom on earth, and here my heart dwells ever, unless there be a light beyond the dark roads that we still must tread, you and I. Come with me!' And taking Frodo's hand in his, he left the hill of Cerin Amroth and came there never again as living man.

And if it's The Hobbit, there goes my even better guess, which came to me over a bowl of soup.... *Sounds of concentrated puzzling are heard from inside the teapot....*

..may I offer you a wrong one which also seems to work, at least to a mouse brain? Pippin's leaf brooch, the mallorn leaves, crumbs and cut rope - the trail which led Aragorn to him. They were left behind 'severally' using the word's other meaning 'separately; each in turn' They were a riddle Aragorn & co had to solve - he actually uses the word riddle In this case 'heirs' has another twist - the heirs of Isildur, Thranduil and Gloin - who weren't blind but didn't see Pippin drop any of the things Excellent riddles, anyway!

You’ve given this a LOT of “Mouse Brain” thought and yes, with a little “twisting” you get some apple-TARTS. Be sure to SHARE them with Meneldor or it’s back in your teapot for you!
