if the "nurse" is spayed or not. This cat could have a really strong maternal instinct which I've seen remain partially intact even in neutered females. What a darling she is!

This story reminds me of the US cat in New England who lives in a hospice and uncannily cuddles with patients shortly before they pass away. No one's figured out how she knows. I believe this cat is female, too.
