Often it jus' seems Natural to us since Reading the Books. But to Start a discussion of "Incidental Magic" throughout the 3 Films... Here is Number one. Old Bilbo blows a Smoke RING by the Front DOOR {Which becomes the TITLE CARD} in AUJ Fast forward 60 years, & Gandalf turns that Smoke Ring into a Butterfly that goes up Young Bilbo's Nose? Did Gandalf have Young Bilbo INHALE an Adventure? We never get a complete answer to the "MothMysteries" but Thatzz Something you don't see everyday? HAVE Fun writing about your Favorite Magic! bom

in Goblintown and the Trollshaws. Love the bit of blue flash. Its a neat reflection of the 'kindling' power versus 'fiery' power. I can feel it (*Head canon alert*) as the concentrated, awakening of force that can split the stones. Cool, however you slice it.

such an iconic image, and the way the sound went out at the moment of the blast - totally cool. I do also like the little bit when they're sitting around the table in Bag End and Gandalf lights his pipe - it took me several viewings to realize he lit it with his finger, which he then blew out!

That's another one of my favourites too. I also quite enjoyed Galadriel's "vanishing act" in AUJ.

What would you Call Gandalf's White Bubble?

Fighting the Balrog, it was like some sorta "Invincibility Shield" emanating from his Staff... Fighting Azog in DG, it was Bigger.. But Sauron was able to break through... Does anyone have a name for it..? Is it, Canon? It would be nice to settle on some name for it. Now, Radagast tried about 4 different potions in an Attempt to Revive Sebastian, what ideas do you have they were? When Raddy gives Gandalf his Staff, he keeps the Blue Crystal that saved Sebastian, so what do you make of that? Bom knows these are a lot of questions, BUT, it would be Great to hear your ideas.

Now, Radagast tries six different methods in his attempt to revive Sebastian: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. All these could be simply natural medicines, which, as we know, fail to cure the creature. The method that does work... ... is, however, clearly magical in its essence: drawing out the poison using an incantation and a magical item.

for Breathing New Life into this "Magic Thread".. Yes, MAGIC Moments.. Don't jus' come to THOSE in Long Robes TALL in Posture, Stern Looks, Sorta lookin' DOWN on other people... The Character of Raddy threw a Wrench into THAT Machine. When Gandalf met him in the High Fells? Was it Radagast? who Flew out & then Transformed in the Crypt? No one has Touched THAT topic here..? YET..

One of the reasons that lead me to suggest that the first five methods he used in his attempt to revive Sebastian were natural medicines, was the fact that it is only after unsuccessfully trying these that he realizes it's a "dark and powerful" magic he's dealing with. It is then he understands that he too must turn to magic if he wishes to succeed. Now, about that scene in the crypts. I don't think he goes through a transformation there -- I view the scene more in line with Galadriel's "vanishing act" in AUJ. Galadriel disappears, Radagast appears (seemingly out of nowhere). Though a transformation is not entirely unimaginable, especially seeing how it has sometimes been argued that Radagast may have indeed had the ability to change form (a theory prompted by a short passage in "The Council of Elrond" where Gandalf describes him as a "master of shapes and changes of hue").

Interesting that those two are living on the edge of Mirkwood that has gone through a Color Transformation.. Thanks to Sauron.. Much to think about there? Or is bomby jus' blowing Colorful Smoke Rings.. In a WAy, Colorful Smoke Rings in BagEND & Colorful Pine Cones thrown @ Orcs from Pine Trees would have been really Nice..& Canon

Galadriel/Gandalf isn't the ONLY time demonstrated.. Gandalf/Radagast, too.. Smaug seemed to have Telepathy of some sort, but never Fully explained. But it IZZ..inconsistent even in the LOTR Saruman/Wormtongue @ Galadreil's Mirror, then Frodo {@ Shelob's Cave}../Galadreil Using the Palantir allows one to have temporarily, Telepahty with Sauron... Also, bom believes @ times Gandalf uses his Stern Voice to ...Hypnotize.. Any way Any thoughts on that.?
