Today was my last Breakfast with Books to honor Dr. Suess with one of my kids. It has been a yearly tradition at our elementary school since my oldest was in kindergarten. With my youngest heading to middle school next year, I will finally be moving on from the elementary school. Bittersweet... Boys are off on a wilderness survival campout. They will build snow caves to sleep in tonight and try to make it the whole night. If they get really cold, they can sleep in the lodge where the smarter .. I mean... adults will be sleeping. Tubing tomorrow for them. It should be a great time! Dad and I will be planning out the spring cleaning/repairs and how to pay for them. We're putting in a new sidewalk out front and replanting some of the flower beds. We're also looking at how to landscape the hill in our backyard as it is really taking a toll on our lawnmower. The trick will be to plant things the deer don't want to eat. I'm still in need of that medicinal hot honey lemon and whiskey. Turns out I had the flu even though I got my flu shot early. Darn incubators I live with, they passed it on to me!

slim and dark and a tiny bit Elvish-looking, though too short for an Elf. Probably technically young enough to have been my grandson - if my daughter had been an early starter, which she wasn't!

Which sounds like a book title, but was in fact an exercise my riding instructor had me do this week, to get a better feel for the horse's stride at walk and trot. I thought it might be frightening, but it was surprisingly relaxing. Rosé for me, I think. The sun is over the yardarm. I'm ready for autumn. I must say it's been probably the nicest summer we've ever had while living here, as far as weather goes. But we're getting a hint of crispness in the mornings, and I love that. A pretty good week in the Kimi household! Buried in the (very) fine print of one of my resources I found a detail that meant I had to shift the events of two chapters around in my w-i-p, but it's all part of the fun. :) Last week I had the "Book of the Week" on iBooks Canada, and I'm still enjoying the aftermath. Wishing everyone a good weekend.

It seems like the colors are just a bit brighter and crisper. Everything smells good, too. Happy weekend, Kimi!
