How on earth did they think that winner Japan got was better than your video. Very weird indeed. And I'm sorry for you guys, I feel your pain, I was very upset too when my video was dropped. At least winner in Finland was pretty good, if it were any other of those finalists, I would have been angry.

Well, this will sound awful to say, but it looks like the winner knew the judges... Or at least might know someone connected to the contest. Because the same person won the Japan Hobbit contest last year (the Fan Fellowship one), and in addition, the Japanese Official "The Hobbit" Twitter account was following her Twitter before this year's contest decided a winner. It just seems very unfair, especially after all the hard work we put into making the films for this. We love "The Hobbit", we love Tolkien, we love our country (Japan), and we love film-making. It would be one thing if the winner very obviously deserved to win over us based on the official judging criteria, but that doesn't seem the case, which is why we're confused and a little upset. >_< I'm glad to hear that the chosen one for Finland was very good! At least it sounds like they tried to be fair in that last round! (I know the voting round is never easy, because as I said before, that's about who you know. :( )
