On this particular line of conversation, yes..... [In reply to]

... my reaction is much the same as yours.

But I'm still here. The thing I always loved about the Dormouse was that he was never sleeping quite so deeply as they thought......

I blame it on winter [In reply to]

said somewhat seriously.

I used to live in a housing coop that housed mostly university students (with a few working stiffs just looking for cheap rent).

Over those few years, I would notice a point where bickering seemed to intensify. It would escalate till I was wondering what the heck was up.

Then I'd realize that, not only was is *still* winter (you know, when it's long worn out its welcome - it was usually March) but the students were likely feeling a lot of pressure from coursework about that time in the term.

I don't know if that can explain the general mood/tone on these boards this week but I wonder. It's this tenacity to STICK with the arguing (and in perhaps another case, consciously pick a topic that's ripe for arguing) that just amazes me. I am passionate about a lot of things but if I've been arguing or ranting (speaking for me - insert soapboxing if it seems gentler) at something for awhile, I think - time to take a breath and find something else to do or dwell on.

There's been a lot of unkind (and a few histrionic) things said in this thread and it's so enormously sad that people can be motivated by something so inconsequential as a movie to take the effort to be unkind.

What a busy thread! [In reply to]

At it's at 200 posts already!

(For those who aren't sure what I've done: threads are typically locked at 200 posts, so they don't "clog up the board".)
