Is Legolas... a CGI double in "Shores of the Long Lake"? Can't Post

Every time I see Legolas behind Tauriel and tell her to "take leave of the dwarf"... That is not a human actor! It's such a jarring visual. What does everyone think? There's something unnatural about him in that scene. I mean, Legolas has looked a bit off in this trilogy (no complaints from me) but this scene is like woah. That's someone else entirely!

Really? Alright...

Well, proud to be one I guess.

My thoughts exactly! [In reply to] Can't Post

The first time I saw him I was completely taken aback. Either he's completely digital or they've gone to extremes in order to keep the younger look. But I'm betting he's digital. Crazy

I think they CG "enhanced" him [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't think he is 100% CGI, but he certainly looks quite a bit off.

I would say yes [In reply to] Can't Post

Thank goodness it is only a relatively brief glimpse, because he truly does look like a zombie – like some of the visuals of him in DoS.

In all other scenes in BoFA apart from this one, he looks relatively OK.

IMO you are not wrong [In reply to] Can't Post

The character's face is so smooth and sharp-looking and his features are so different, it's like it's not even the same person. The two seconds later the character is back to looking perfectly fine - very nice IMO.

That was an odd moment, don't know why the CGI smoothing??? would have been carried to that extreme - or even needed at all - OB is a handsome guy! *baffled*Unsure

I agree with the word "unnatural" as this looks, for a few moments, like a relative of Legolas, not Legolas.

No, of course not.// [In reply to] Can't Post

"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that."

Yes he did look better in that shot [In reply to] Can't Post

I do remember seeing Legolas in that shot and thinking 'he looks younger and more like the LOTR legolas here'. Was pleased he didn't look as much older as he did in DOS. Anyone suggesting he's CGI has gone bananas, he's clearly not.

Yeah. [In reply to] Can't Post

Though worse than his looks is how he comes across here... like some creepy stalker.

We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.
