Is it possible?

Currently, I am reading The Silmarillion for the first time. I finished chapter nine "The Flight of the Noldor" last night. Based on the Noldor leaving Aman and returning to Middle-earth, I was wondering is it possible for someone to visit Aman and return to Middle-earth afterward. For example - let's say - a Man has a critically ill child whom no one in Middle-earth can heal. Could he sail to Aman, plead for the Valar to save his child, and return to Middle Earth? Side note (off subject): Fëanor gives a whole new perspective on Elves. And (spoiler) I was so sure Ungoliant would eat Melkor. I was a bit disappointed when she didn't.

Men were not invited to Aman at all, which is why it was such a remarkable recognition of Frodo and Bilbo to let them come at least as far as Tol Eressëa (an island off the coast of Aman). And after the First Age, it was no longer possible to travel back and forth between Aman and Middle Earth at all; only one-way trips West for those who qualify by virtue of being descended from the original Elves invited to Aman or by special dispensation. You'll read more about that in due course.

The Vanyar, Noldor, and Teleri all set out, but the Teleri got distracted. Their leader Elwë (later known as Elu Thingol) met Melian the maia along the way, fell in love, and ended up staying. Many of the Teleri eventually made it to Aman, but not all. Some Elves, however, refused the invitation altogether. These are a distinctly inferior group, however, as the ones with Aman connections received much learning and wisdom.

And then there's Glorfindel, who's a bit of an exception. He died in battle before the third age (I'll need to look up when and how exactly), but he's the same Glorfindel who saves Frodo from the Nazgûl. So it must be (/have been) possible for elves to leave Mandos' halls and return to Middle Earth... and as for Men visiting Aman... you'll have to read on :)

Tuor Glorfindel and those who survived fled in a secret tunnel then they went out on a mountain path and they were persecuted by a Balrog and Glorfindel sacrificed himself for the others and fought the Balrog. And I think Glorfindel finally pushed down the Balrog down from the mountain then the balrog took hold Glorfindels hair recieve pulled him down. So both died. (Sorry for bad english)
