I think we all know the odds of that happening. At least they are doing something in China. I don't remember them going there promoting the movies the past two years. Although, just Armitage as far as actors go is a bit sparse. Probably no big festive premiere either....

Not to be TOO fangirly but RA in arrival pics looks handsome, healthy and relaxed - I am impressed. For me China would be such a long flight I would be staggering off the plane (I hate to fly) with black circles under my eyes, shaky legs, desperate to get to a hotel where I could collapse in relief! If I can ever get the funds for NZ tho$$$ guess I will have to "man up and get through it..."

Having on one trip been able to fly first class on Air New Zealand (London to Hong Kong) I can say that most people would get off the plane looking relaxed and healthy... It's wonderful up the front end of a 747!

(OK, I love that Bard/Thorin interchange and Thorin spitting that line out, and Bard giving Thorin an almost wounded look - which IMO was great because to me it conveyed Bard's humbleness e.g. Bard really doesn't see himself as heroic...) Anyway, it would have been cool if Luke Evans could be there. But yah know, for me, China IS getting a visit from the King Under the Mountain. Tho it would be nice to have the Hobbit there too. http://www.deviantart.com/...al-With-it-507741023

Not a pleasant trip – not because of the seating conditions, food or anything like that, but because you are stuck in the same position all the time. I too don't like flying… P.S. Looking at your further post, one could always fly on dragon back.

Just once I would like to fly first class and experience the difference. Just ONCE. And if I am going to try to fly half a world away, maybe it would be time to do it in style. For once.

I'd spent 10 years flying back and forth across Europe and used frequent flyer points so it cost £16 (taxes) and that was it... I didn't want to get off.

Is the same. Thank you for posting that. RA seems so calm about being, evidently, the biggest news story in China that day. IMO certainly the most interesting.

in a tux: https://twitter.com/...706672709633/photo/1 The fans sang the Misty Mountain song again and this time RA joined in with them. I'll try to find a vid, LOL! And a tweet from RA: https://twitter.com/...s/557544923772108803 He and PJ and PB were presented with glass things(?) which might have been the frontispiece of The Red Book of March (you decide). RA's said: 'Richard Armitage AKA Thorin Oakenshield. Hottest Dwarf in Middle-earth.' PJ's said: 'Sir Peter Jackson - The Precious of Middle-earth. Lord of the Carrot Eaters.' Philippa's said: 'Phillipa Boyens - Biggest Tolkien Geek in the World - Even bigger than Stephen Colbert.' Here's RA's: https://pbs.twimg.com/.../B70GJgCIcAA-Oq0.jpg

Thank you for posting these - LOL, what can we say? Richard - so handsome, and what a classy representative for these films. A KING, indeed. Hey - there is an Asian gentleman with Richard who looks like the same guy from the airport - what, did Richard get assigned his own Chinese bodyguard or something? Or perhaps a translator? If so, very nice and appropriate for visiting royalty. (LOL I personally have never gotten that kind of service when I traveled - more like someone chewing me out over not filling out some paperwork or losing the luggage.....)

Even that would be pretty amazing compared to AUJ or DoS. I wonder though, if it somehow did get north of $150 million, if WB would push to keep it in theaters in other jurisdictions longer in order to push it towards one billion. Or do they not really care?

Apparently, presales have been very good and far surpasses presales for DOS. We'll see if that translates to a much higher gross...
