Ugh, it's Monday again. How about some LOTR Movie Trivia! Can't Post

The rules are simple.

I ask six questions from the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game. This is a game released as a tie-in for the LOTR movie trivia, so all questions are LOTR movie centric. The questions are divided into six categories: Things, Evil Characters, Good Characters, Places & History, Warfare, and Making Movies.

I will post the answers for the questions on Friday for you to score yourselves. Until then, answer them, discuss them, joke about them, and feel free to award plenty of Invisible Extra Credit to those who deserve it.

For the record, the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game has some questions that are just too easy, some questions that are awkwardly phrased, and some questions that seem to be flat wrong. I am combining questions from a couple of different cards to get these sets and to try and weed out some of the odd ones. Also, I wouldn't put too much thought into worrying about whether or not the questions fit their categories.

Here are this week's questions:

Whose blurry face does Frodo see speaking to him when he is feverish in Rivendell?

What creatures broke their oath of allegiance to the ancient king of Gondor?

What two things does Legolas say Fangorn is full of?

What natural feature hides the entrance to Faramir's cave?

What item does Sam use as a makeshift weapon in the Mines of Moria?

What's the name of the actress who plays Arwen?

Hi AD [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for clarifying that these questions are movie-centric. I shall nonetheless forge ahead with (likely) many incorrect guesses, (because it's FUN! Smile)

Whose blurry face does Frodo see speaking to him when he is feverish in Rivendell? Elrond’s? (A guess, as book Frodo awakens (apparently non-feverish) to Gandalf.

What creatures broke their oath of allegiance to the ancient king of Gondor? Dead Men of Dunharrow

What two things does Legolas say Fangorn is full of? Trees & Ents

What natural feature hides the entrance to Faramir's cave? Waterfall

What item does Sam use as a makeshift weapon in the Mines of Moria? A ladle? – ha – “Never have I seen a ladle so wielded!” -Gimli

What's the name of the actress who plays Arwen? Liv Tyler (She is maybe one of three actors I could name from the films, as she is a knockout.)

I got this! [In reply to] Can't Post

1. Elrond.
2. The army of the dead. "There are those who dwell within the mountain."
3. "This forest is old. Full of memory...and anger."
4. A waterfall.
5. A frying pan. "I think I'm gettin' the hang of this."
6. Liv Tyler.

“Tollers,” Lewis said to Tolkien, “there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves.”

It's the Mediocrity Bench for me... [In reply to] Can't Post

I need my son to hurry up and finish the books, already! so we can watch the movies (again, for me).

Whose blurry face does Frodo see speaking to him when he is feverish in Rivendell?
Oof... Is it Elrond?

What creatures broke their oath of allegiance to the ancient king of Gondor?
The Dead, I think. But not the Grateful ones.

What two things does Legolas say Fangorn is full of?
Well, it's not flies and spiders... 'full of memory' is the phrase that's coming to mind, but that's only one thing.

What natural feature hides the entrance to Faramir's cave?
Ooh, ooh, I know this one! It's a waterfall.

What item does Sam use as a makeshift weapon in the Mines of Moria?
A frying pan. Unless it's a pot. Don't ask me if it's stainless or cast iron, though, 'cause I've no idea!

What's the name of the actress who plays Arwen?
Liv Tyler

Pirate

I'm going to answer these off the top of my head, then look the durn things up...

thingies: um, Sam?

evil characters: those wild men

good characters: so I liked this scene so much in the books, Legolas peering wide-eyed into Fangorn, with a great sense of wonder and fascination, listening to the trees speak... while Aragorn and Gimli are lurking under a tree sharpening their weapons... that I can't remember the film scene. I think the forest is full of anger...

place and history: waterfall

warfare: all I can picture is his action figure with the bloomin frying pan.....

movies: Liv Tyler, Daughter of Aerosmith

she's a lovely person, but I really miss Glorfindel...
