Then Dwalin. Thorin was ok (although I still find the close-trimmed beard very irritating), Bofur was ok (again though, didn't look like a Dwarf), couldn't stand much of anything about Kili, and the rest were just kinda there.

...is Thorin. Though I also liked Balin a lot. He had a great look, was excellently acted by Stott, and was given many enjoyable.meaningful moments to shine.

Then Balin; Fili, Dwalin, Kili all about equal. PS - there isn't one I dislike.

I love Nori's design and back story that I've learned through interviews, and behind the scenes stuff, though we so rarely get to see him do anything in these films. It's no surprise everyone's favourites are Fili, Kili, Thorin, Bofur, Dwalin and Balin as these are the only ones who really get characterised to any great degree. Perhaps Oin does a little. But I love all the dwarves' designs and backstories and wish we should have seen more. In terms of the dwarves we actually do get to know in the films, I love Balin and Dwalin. Balin is probably my favourite.

If I'd been asked for my favourite dwarf prop I'd have chosen Ori's pack and sketchbook. You don't even see it in the film, but the sketches and bits and pieces of drawing equipment he has are beautiful - typical of the care and thought that goes into these films.

Loved all that stuff in the chronicles book. Was it Nori who had some sort of board game with him? I was really hoping we'd see Ori sketching at some point along the way. Fingers crossed for a scene of him giving Bilbo his portrait in the EE. I would love that.

Thorin then Balin, Dwalin, Fili, Kili but love all the dwarves. The entire Company of these tumbling dwarves is a big attraction in these films - the Baker's Dirty Dozen

Balin. One of the best character portrayals in all 6 of the movies. I also liked Bofur, although he didn't have as much screen time as I would have liked. Dwalin was also a great character, very unique and probably the most dwarf-like of the whole company. Thorin is a neat character, but not one I particularly love. I didn't like how Kili was used, as well has his not-so-dwarvish appearance. The others were not used a ton, so I can't say much there.
