http://www.boredpanda.com/...wer-superfan-builds/ A girlfriend has a Bag End litter box and a Barad Dur scratching post made for her Tolkien obsessed boyfriend. They are amazingly detailed. Lots of great pix but scroll down to bottom to see the video. It's interesting but a bit long, so you might want to skip to the end to see the reaction. :)

the Bag End litter box is not proportioned AT ALL for any cat to legitimately squat in. Unless of course it is sized for hobbit cats.

My cats would not use box, they don't like feeling closed in re their facilities *cough*. (No complaints as they are rigorously clean anyway) The scratching post would be amazing to own and my cats would love that. Now I think building an Erebor scratching post/sleep platform might be fun......

Bag End would have been better as a kitty bed/hiding place - for functional reasons as well as just being more appropriate. Bag End as a litter box - cute as it is - doesn't seem right. BTW, my friend who posted this on facebook has a cat named Faramir. He was named that when she got him; the whole litter had LOTR names and, though she's not a huge fan, she liked the name and kept it. It really fits him; he's very noble.
