Thinking seeing the gifs would be perhaps a bit too spoilery for you. But I guess you've already seen them Blush

     Good :) [In reply to]

Though seeing jpgs and knowing what will happen is something different to actually seeing it. But I'm glad you didn't mind Wink

In other news, I thought Legolas did look amazing in this film:

Oh I'm sorry I guess it's a bit of an inside joke for those who have seen BOFA [In reply to]

It's spoilery, sure you want to read it? Angelic

Gandalf continuesly tries to talk Thranduil out of doing certain things, trying to warn him for an upcoming Orc army that no one has actually seen, trying to change his course of action concerning the Dwarves etc. etc. Thranduil is getting a bit 'tired' if you will and this is a moment between Thranduil and Bard where Thranduil sighs and rolls his eyes to Bard as if to say 'here we go again'. Second gif is when Thranduil turns back his head and faces Gandalf as if nothing happend. It's funny, you'll see.

If your ears aren't pointy, you're doing it wrong.

To me, there clearly is a story, invented by the filmmakers, that hasn't been told (yet).

Spoiler legolas' mother [In reply to]

I agree with everything you said except i like the subplot about legolas' mother. When Thranduil says "your mother loved you" it shows Thranduil's own love for her and even though we don't get to see it (yet?), it's why he want those gems back. As i've said before, Philippa Boyens said those gems were the only thing remaining of hers that he has (Peter said it would be more fleshed out a bit in the EE). This subplot adds to the fact that he isn't just a cold, greedy, selfish elf.

I love LOVE L-O-V-E his major eye roll and then like "Oh, you've been talking to me?!". No matter the quality it has me in tears from laughing. Evil
Can I wish for one more Gandalf/Thranduil scene in the EE? Angelic

SPOILER - History of Thranduil & Legolas [In reply to]

Here is some quota i found in the internet:

She [Tauriel] says " There's no love in you". She actually utterly wrong. He [Thranduil] has loved so deeply that he can't go near it anymore. He can't approach it, he can't touch it, it is not to be talked about. Sp when he finally says to Legolas " Your mother loved you, more than anything, more than life", that's what we said to the actor in that moment is that she dies saving her child.

There possibly more in the extended cut if you [peter] do it. It's the story of why he's like that.....The gems! It started with the gems. It will be fleshed out in the extended cut. Legolas' mother was never mentioned but we like that idea and it's a bit more than "I want my gems back"

Legolas’ mother is never mentioned, but we liked that idea. In the end, it never gets told necessarily, but it informs the actor and so when you deliver that line, “Your mother loved you,” it has a power that I thought was part of the backstory, that she died, and the only thing remaining of her that he has are these jewels.

Legolas reconciles with Thranduil and returns to Mirkwood after he has been hunting Gollum with Aragon

......Philippa Boyens

But he’s such a cold character, he’s such a severe character, and it rings true to me that that severity comes from a heartbreak. The elves feel things in a very deep way. They’re not human, they’re very far from human. Those emotions, that love is profound.

......Lee Pace

I also think too that Thranduil’s got the hardest decision of everybody in terms of fighting. Fighting for Thranduil is committing his troops and yet, unlike the other characters, who, if they don’t die in this battle, they will die of old age at some point … Thranduil and the elves, they’re immortal, but if they get an orc sword through them, they’re going to die just like anyone else. So for someone who is basically committing the lives of elves who would otherwise live forever more and committing them to possibly a short, violent death is a much bigger decision, a lot more difficult than anyone else’s.

......PJ

Fanart of a sad little Legolas T_T
