She was 94. The queen of crime fiction, and creator of the wonderful Adam Dalgliesh. Rest in peace.

I will so miss this voice. a.s.
"an seileachan" Through any dark time, I always remember Frodo's claim on the side of Mt. Doom that he "can manage it" because he must. Sometimes, I have to manage it, too, as do we all. We manage because we must.

...but as an enormous fan of the film Children of Men (based on her novel), this makes me incredibly sad. Rest in Peace, Ms. James.
"The danger with any movie that does as well as this one does is that the amount of money it's making and the number of awards that it's got becomes almost more important than the movie itself in people's minds. I look at that as, in a sense, being very much like the Ring, and its effect on people. You know, you can kind of forget what we were doing, if you get too wrapped up in that." - Viggo Mortensen

I didn't think much of death comes to Pemberly, but I am a big fan of Adam Dalgleish.
