I was really not expecting that voiceover. I laughed a good bit. But sweet spot! Awesome (and first?) new shot of Smaug since teaser!

Not particular to this TV spot so much (which was still great) [In reply to] Can't Post

but what is PJ's fascination with multi coloured skies? Seriously. It seems every shot of sky in every tv spot and trailer is sunset or sunrise or with the moon creating a whirlpool of colours. I mean even the title cards during the trailers and tv spots have it as well. It really doesn't help the artificial look of the movies. Crazy

Nice one! [In reply to] Can't Post

Is it just me or has Thorin's line changed a little from "Everything I did, I did for them" to "...I did for my people"?

Also, what does Galadriel say? Because keep hearing "The TARDIS has returned" but I have a feeling that can't be it unless The Doctor is part of the White Council. Sly

I don't know [In reply to] Can't Post

The "my people" part of that line sounds really weird and out of place. Like it was edited in.

How many Tolkien fans does it take to change a light bulb?

... I also assume that most scenes we see here are not finished color grading-wise... the fire of Smaug will surely look more like what we saw in DoS (it now looks like the fire in the DoS promotion material safe for the sneak peek). Also, the coulor of the mountains in the background has changed significantly.

I also spotted major color differences compared to the teaser (and even trailer) in the scene with Thranduil fighting in Dale and Galadriel holding Gandalf.

We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.

Fire [In reply to] Can't Post

In DoS for example:

This (trailer):

http://heirsofdurin.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/dos204.jpg

was graded to this:

http://screencapped.net/...hobbit-dos-14211.jpg

I hope the fire in Lake-town will look also more like that in the finished graded version of the movie. Which I am rather sure of... why would they make the movie "brighter" in its colours than DoS.
