Another round of LOTR Trivia!
|
Can't Post
|
|
Hi everyone! It's Monday and that means another round of LOTR Trivia! The rules are simple. I ask six questions from the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game. The questions are divided into six categories: Things, Evil Characters, Good Characters, Places & History, Warfare, and Making Movies. I will post the answers for the questions on Friday for you to score yourselves. Until then, answer them, discuss them, joke about them, and feel free to award plenty of Invisible Extra Credit to those who deserve it. For the record, the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game has some questions that are just too easy, some questions that are awkwardly phrased, and some questions that seem to be flat wrong. I am combining questions from a couple of different cards to get these sets and to try and weed out some of the odd ones. Also, I wouldn't put too much thought into worrying about whether or not the questions fit their categories. Here are this week's questions: What creatures are meeting if Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Ash are the names of the invitees? What part of the Balrog's body does Gandalf use to swing up on its back? Where's the ring when Bilbo lies to Gandalf saying it's in an envelope on the mantelpiece? What two-word title does the Bree innkeeper call the Hobbits when he first meets them? What happens to Aragorn's sword when he tries to attack the White Wizard in Fangorn? Which screenwriter had the idea for Merry and Pippin to steal fireworks at Bilbo's party?

Little Folk What happens to Aragorn's sword when he tries to attack the White Wizard in Fangorn? It starts glowing as in fire, burning his hand. Which screenwriter had the idea for Merry and Pippin to steal fireworks at Bilbo's party? Fran Walsh? Just a wild guess. Thanks, AD!

What creatures are meeting if Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Ash are the names of the invitees? Ents, oddly enough. What part of the Balrog's body does Gandalf use to swing up on its back? The horn. Where's the ring when Bilbo lies to Gandalf saying it's in an envelope on the mantelpiece? Bilbo's waistcoat pocket, although I would quibble with the phrase "lies to Gandalf." What two-word title does the Bree innkeeper call the Hobbits when he first meets them? Young Masters? What happens to Aragorn's sword when he tries to attack the White Wizard in Fangorn? It appears to become extremely hot. Which screenwriter had the idea for Merry and Pippin to steal fireworks at Bilbo's party? Quentin Tarantino, who was called in to 'punch up' the script and make it gritty and street smart.

What creatures are meeting if Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Ash are the names of the invitees? Ents! What part of the Balrog's body does Gandalf use to swing up on its back? Um, its wings? Haha, just kidding, everybody knows Balrog's don't have wings. How about, his horn? Where's the ring when Bilbo lies to Gandalf saying it's in an envelope on the mantelpiece? His pocketisess! What two-word title does the Bree innkeeper call the Hobbits when he first meets them? Little masters. What happens to Aragorn's sword when he tries to attack the White Wizard in Fangorn? It gets white hot (kinda like a lightsaber, hmmm) Which screenwriter had the idea for Merry and Pippin to steal fireworks at Bilbo's party? I'm going to go with Sir Peter Jackson.

Let's see if I can get back into the spirit of this.. Answers 1. Well that last guy was on Pokeman, I think, but I'll go with Ents. 2. Well since this is a family board I'll just say Wings. Or maybe not. 3. Having a good time catching up with the lint in Bilbo's pocket. 4. Munch and Kins. Or Little Masters. 5. It went out in a blaze of glory... 6. Phillipa, but she stole the idea from Ralph Bakshi...or the Beatles... Fun to be playing again, thanks for leading this charge!

Hi everyone! The LOTR board has sure slowed down with all of the excitement over on the Hobbit board! I'll be posting new trivia as a response to this thread until some of my old posts fall off of page one. So if you don't see a new trivia post on Mondays, check the last thread to see if I've posted new questions! The rules are simple. I ask six questions from the LOTR Trivial Pursuit game. The questions are divided into six categories: Things, Evil Characters, Good Characters, Places & History, Warfare, and Making Movies. Also, I wouldn't put too much thought into worrying about whether or not the questions fit their categories. Here are this week's questions: Who's Frodo talking about to Gandalf when he says: "He's got the whole place in an uproar"? Who sits on a small throne next to the main one when Pippin arrives at Minas Tirith? Who gives Pippin a leg up into Gandalf's cart at Bilbo's party? What creature does Gandalf ride off on to escape from the Tower of Orthanc? What weapon is in the hand of the Argonath statue on the eastern riverbank? (hint: (highlight to read) this is the one to the left on the screen as the Fellowship pass them) What's Andrew Lesnie's title in the trilogy credits? (hint: (highlight to read) art director, digital designer, or director of photography)

Who's Frodo talking about to Gandalf when he says: "He's got the whole place in an uproar"? Santa and the toy workshop! He's always waiting until the last minute to check that list twice. Who sits on a small throne next to the main one when Pippin arrives at Minas Tirith? The Grinch. And the throne was two sizes too small! Who gives Pippin a leg up into Gandalf's cart at Bilbo's party? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. 36 leg ups, to be precise. What creature does Gandalf ride off on to escape from the Tower of Orthanc? He jumps off into Santa's sleigh as it circles round dropping lumps of coal for Bad Boy Saruman. What weapon is in the hand of the Argonath statue on the eastern riverbank? (hint: (highlight to read) this is the one to the left on the screen as the Fellowship pass them) A re-gifted fruitcake. What's Andrew Lesnie's title in the trilogy credits? (hint: (highlight to read) art Head Toymaker!

Hi everyone! Here are the answers to the second round of Trivia in this thread. How did everyone do?
Here are this week's questions: Who's Frodo talking about to Gandalf when he says: "He's got the whole place in an uproar"? Bilbo Who sits on a small throne next to the main one when Pippin arrives at Minas Tirith? Denethor Who gives Pippin a leg up into Gandalf's cart at Bilbo's party? Merry What creature does Gandalf ride off on to escape from the Tower of Orthanc? An eagle What weapon is in the hand of the Argonath statue on the eastern riverbank? (hint: (highlight to read) this is the one to the left on the screen as the Fellowship pass them) An axe This one took me forever to confirm! I brought you a picture to prove it! The eastern riverbank is on the left, with the axe sort of weirdly imbedded in the stone. What's Andrew Lesnie's title in the trilogy credits? (hint: (highlight to read) art director, digital designer, or director of photography) Director of photography My Costuming Site TORn's Costume Discussions Archive
